Shuttle bus the 11kms into town, to have a look at "The old town of Dubrovnik"

Dubrovnik is an expanding city but limited to the sea one side and the Rocky Mountains the other.

The terrain the town is built on is steep rocky hills and the abundant limestone make up most of the structures within the town.

The bus drops us near the old part of town which is now a world listed heritage site.

We started by getting the cable car up to the top, to help us see what we were about to walk around.

We have been to many fortress built towns in the last few weeks, but this was our favourite.

Maybe because you can walk the whole wall and the contrast of the orange terracotta roofs, to the blue ocean is fantastic.

It was steep inside the walls and we had a few thousand steps easily today.

We spent most of the day exploring it and finished with a long lunch by the water.

It was a quiet night after a rewarding day of exploration.
