Road trips up and down the coast with our hired car


• Tristeno - Very beautiful little village 30mins drive outside of Dubrovnik. Favourite place in Dubrovnik. Spent a whole afternoon dream building with Toby about the possibilities of restoring the old buildings and living on the coast with a boutique Hotel. Also found a huge preserved garden with an incredible water fountain. This is where we found the Game of Thrones scenes, purely by accident.
• Ston - Another tiny town 2 hours drive north from Dubrovnik. Called Ston because has a massive stone fortress over the hill.
• Montenegro - A quick 30 minutes and we were across the border to the country Montenegro. The first time I had gone across a border by car. Showed our passports and went through. (More about Montenegro on other blog). On the way back saw the police stop a car and strip search it, 4 Romanian guys, of course.
