Having turned inland from the Adriatic coast, the group arrived at Plitvice Lakes National Park. The Hotel Jezero overlooking Lake Kozjak was an overnight stop between Zadar and Rijecka, Croatia. The beautiful natural area has a series of waterfalls connecting the upper and lower lakes. There was time to do a bit of exploring of the nearby natural areas and follow one of the trails. Plitvice Lakes National Park was named a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1994.
