Hello everyone,

This weekend was a pretty busy one for me. Friday I went to the theatre with my host club and the 4 other exchange students of my club. It was about a show with one African who tells the stories of his life growing up in Africa and also about moving to Belgium and how he found it. It was in French so i couldnt really understand a lot of it and i was also really tired so that didnt help very much. I got home at midnight and i had to wait till my host father Pascal and his friend Laurent to get back from their wine tasting because Laurent was driving me back to his house in order to be able to go to Luxemburg with them in the morning. So by the time i got to his house it was 1 oclock in the morning....i was really tired. In the morning we had to wake up at 6 so thats only 5 hours of sleep; needless to say i was exsausted. Luckily the car ride was almost two hours long so i slept in the car, which for me is amazing because anybody that knows

me knows that i cant sleep in cars. Anyways we got to the house of Laurent and Danielles friends and had breakfast all together-crussants and hot choclate-the actual real kind on the stove, and for me lots of lots of coffee. The men set off for the Chase-Hunt, and me Danielle and Julie went to Luxemburg together. Luxemburg is one of the priettest places i have ever been to. In the city there is no garbage anywhere and all the buildings are really nice. It is truely a very very ritch country. Their National Bank is huge and it looks like a castle and is even bigger than the Grand Palice in Brussels. The roads are all orderly and neat, and almost evryone i saw was dressed to the nines. We did some shopping cause their is hardly any tax on the clothes here. After a great day of sightseeing and shopping we returned back to Belgium to the region of Luxemburg to meet back up with Chantel who is the wife of the friend of Laurnent; We went to a little pattiserie together and it sooo cute with all the little cakes and bread; We each choose a little cake to eat and all sat down to talk-it was very European. After we met up with Laurent and all the other men that participated in the hunt. They had killed two wild boars and a lot of little deer. It was really cool that after the hunt one guy got out his trumpet and played a song to honor the hunters and to thank the animals for dieing for food. One of the men killed his first animal so they marked his forehead with blood to honor that-very funny. All in all it was incredable to be a part of this really old belgish tradition. After that we went out for supper at a place famous for moules-muscles. I wasnt very hungry though so i only had an appy of shrimp-scampis and tried a few of Julies. Moules et frites are a very belgiun dish. I finally got back to Karin and Pascals at about 10 and i went straight to bed because i was sooo tired but not before thanking Danielle and Laurent profoundly. I will give them a really nice Christmas gift to thank them.
Sunday-Today i just slept and relaxed all day and also organised my dresser...it was really messy.
Anyways im going to bed now because i am really tired but ill send another entry soon about the differences between belgium and Canada.
I hope all of you are in good health and happy as i am:
Love Becca
