Today we had quite a late start, but once we were out we took the short walk to praterm. This was an amusement park which housed a Ferris wheel. So we bought our tickets for our ride around. This gave us not only views over the park itself but also over Vienna. This was quite cool to see. We then took a wander around the park, however, a lot of it was closed due to it being early in the day. Then we walked to the nearby train station and popped into McDonald's for a hot chocolate and slice of cake.

Our adventure next took us on a multiple tube ride across Vienna to visit Schonbrunn. Upon arriving there was a Christmas market to explore, and it was rude not to examine each stall. We then walked through and got our first glimpse of the palace itself, and the recommendations were all correct. This was outstanding and truly beautiful. We wandered up the gardens to get a clear view of the full building, before meandering up to the top of the hill to get a view over the palace, the gardens, and the whole of Vienna. This was a breathtaking view, and we could of sat at the top all day and admired it if it weren't so cold. We then walked back down, and through the Christmas market again before heading back into Vienna.

On arriving in Vienna, we decided to stop off at Karlslaptz and look around the Christmas market that was closed the day before. This market was slightly different and was full of unique craft makes, such as jewellery and stationary made out of ram and computer bits. We then decided we needed a warm drink, so popped into small cafe to thaw and drink a coffee. By the time we came out the sun had fully set and all Christmas lights were on and it was very pretty. Especially the church, which was stunning normally, but with lights on looked magical. We took a little wander around the market again, even bumping into some friendly looking alpacas.

We hopped back on to the tube and made our way back up to praterm amusement park as we wanted to see if any more had opened up at night. There was now a mini Christmas market, but only one or two rides were open and to be honest it was like a ghost town once you left vicinity of the market. So we hopped back on the tube and headed into Vienna for some dinner. We chose to go back to TGI Fridays this time to sample some food and more of the cocktail menu. The food was very tasty and the cocktails even yummier. Stuffed to the brim with food it was back to hotel and sleep for us.
