Here's an update

Today we went across the border from Germany to Austria.

About a 1.5 hour trip over the mountains. Weather was very delightful.

Sunny and about 75. My 2ND fuel fill up with diesel for the new Peugoet was 51 mpg

Glad of that as fuel is approx $5 a gallon. Tomorrow we hope to go to Berchtesgaden

There is some history there from WW II plus it is a beautiful region sticking down into Austria.
