To Salzburg

No layover in Frankfurt. Off one plane, on to the next (and didn't have the huge trek one often has in Frankfurt). Flight to Munich was very short. In Munich, our bags were among the first off. Got our car, then hit the road for Salzburg. Much of the drive was on the motorway. Gorgeous day - clear and cool. Detoured around Schiemsee on backroads. In Salzburg, we went to the airport for help finding our hotel. Checked in and napped for two hours or so.

Then we walked around the totally deserted old town. Had a decent dinner of schnitzel in a charming restaurant. Lingered over wine, coffee. After dinner, we walked some more. The castle on the hill was all lit up - beautiful, cold, and no one around.
