Austria proved to be a lovely place, however it was unfortunate that we struggled with our health (only a little bit) while we were here. We diagnosed ourselves with extreme hayfever, as our symptoms included itchy throat and continual sneezing. Our campground was located right next to a farmer who fiddled around with grass cuttings all day everyday. This is what we narrowed the cause down to.
Despite our constant sneezing and sniffling, we managed to fully explore Salzburg's Old Town and even venture out to Werfen, where we took a tour of the Ice Caves. The Old Town was one of the nicest we have been to so far, and quite compact, so it was easy for us to walk around to all the wonderful sights.
The Ice Caves, however, have to be our highlight of Austria. The views from the mountains while we were hiking to the enterance were exquisite and the Ice Caves themselves were a sight to behold.
