I woke up really early, about 5.30am, because we were still English time and these god dam national birds!! I was well tired! We waited till about 6am, when I saw a frightening sight. That Gecko had escaped into our room! It ran across the ceiling and I was really freaked out. I ran upstairs and sat in the living room for a bit until we used our rations to have breakfast. The view was spectacular across the bay. Just after breakfast I got another shock as Cleo, the resident dog leapt into our living room and starting jumping up. I thought she was a stray, but later remembered that she lived with the owners. Then I realised that all the dogs I had seen the night before do have owners, but are just the ... read more

Blogger Bec What a wonderful day - the complete stereotypical Caribbean experience! We started early in the day with a glass bottomed boat out to Buccoo Reef - the 2nd biggest in the western hemisphere. The reef has been protected for almost 30 years so it is doing well, with a large range of life and coral. The highlight was a school of cuttlefish, baby ones included. They have a really unusual way of swimming in a perfect horizontal line which struck me. Maybe it's for protection? I would've thought it was more unsafe that way - divide and conquer!! Our snorkelling gear was worth the money - no mask leakages, no blisters from ill fitting fins! I've never been on a glass bottomed boat before - didn't know what to expect. In the end, ... read more

We left the house early, about 5.30am. We got to Gatwick at about 7am. So, from there we had to check in and go through security which took about 2 hours. The wait was long and tedious, but once we got through into the duty free shopping area, it was quite fun. We went and sniffed all the funky perfumes in WORLD and went sales shopping in FAT FACE. I didn't buy anything but Mum bought a top. We sat in the duty free area for about two hours as well because the flight was delayed. Finally, we were told we could move down to the gate where we sat for about 10 minutes before a lady came and told us there was a technical problem on the plane which we would need to wait ... read more

Blogger Dougo Today was quite a stressful day for me. After getting up at around 11 to pack I went to find an ATM to withdraw money to pay for our stay at The Gingerbread House. We needed to be at the ferry docks at 12:30pm to be sure of our booking. Well after trying three different banks I withdrew the money and sprinted in the 35 degree heat back to the guest house. Dripping with sweet we paid and then waited 4o minutes for a taxi to arrive to take us to the ferry. Upon arriving at the ferry, we had to pass through security. You know, the emptying of the pockets and the taking off the hat and so forth. I had the keys to the guesthouse in my pocket didn't I!!!! Whilst ... read more
