Hello Hello!
We we made it to Puerto Rico-barely! Even though I am on land now I am swaying back and forth like I'm still on the water. The ship is amazing, way more than I expected. Let's see where to begin... My room has a window which is very nice to have, it's not a dark cave like the ones that don't have windows. Everyone on the ship is really friendly, especially the workers. The first day we had orientation, we met the faculty and got the general run down. The days are divided into A and B days and you have different classes depending on that day. On A days I only have one class, so I can just do homework outside on the deck and on B days I have 4. I have only had each class once so far but they all sound very interesting. Lot's of people got seasick, we would be in class and people would keep leaving because the ship was rocking so much.
When we got to Puerto Rico it was so nice to get on land and walk around. Puerto Rico has been really fun, it looks and reminds me a lot of Mexico. The first day we got here, 12 of us traveled indep. to the El Yunque rainforest. It was gorgeous! We hiked for like four hours and were up about 3,800 ft. The view was amazing! (I thought of you Toren!) We hiked up to this small castle like tower that was way up in the clouds and hung out on the top of that for awhile. None of us really knew each other before the hike, we just kind of put the group together randomly the night before based on who wanted to go. Everyone is so awesome that we all just got along fine. We went back to the ship and had dinner and then walked around old San Juan and got some great Mexican food. Today a group of us walked around town and ended up having a two hour lunch. It was nice though we sat outside under an umbrella and just talked. We also toured around an old fort that is on the island it's called San Cristobal. It's just so fun because we can do whatever we want and when we run into other SAS students people jump from group to group if they want to do something else. So far everything is going great! Sorry there are no pictures this time 😞 but hopefully next time. Thinking of you all! Love T
