overnachtingen 'Lost and Found' richting Boquete.
Allemaal heel relax. Niemand jaagt zich op.
Nu nog wat uitrusten alvorens we verder
reizen naar Costa Rica.
We take the bus from Panama City to David, 8 hours of traveling. Luckily there is some entertainment on the bus. A guy walks back and forth while asking all kinds of questions, (en Español naturalmente). Our Spanish is just good enough to understand he’s asking for the smallest country on earth. Not that difficult for a European: El Vaticano! Correcto, we win a bracelet.
The bracelets are a present, an introduction to a jewelry sale.
Finally we arrive in David. We are just in time to get a connection to the national forest “La Fortuna”. We manage to finish the steep climb with the heavy backpacks to the “Lost and Found” lodge just before sunset. We are the oldest couple around, but it doesn’t seems to bother anyone. The next day we walk the trail up to the viewpoint. Our condition could be better.
Lots of Americans in the “Lost and Found”, there’s also a guy from New-Zealand who’s traveling with just his surfboard and a very small backpack. All his stuff got stolen a couple of weeks earlier. Not all that important he says.
Three days
later we leave for Boquete. A small town surrounded by mountains, lots of wind.
Meanwhile Nancy discovered she lost her notebook adapter. The bus company didn’t find a lost adapter, we don’t get a reply to our email to “Lost and Found”. A girl that works at the hostel in Boquete is a good friend of the “Lost and Found” owner. A few phone calls later she shows us a picture of the adapter on her smartphone. Now we know why the lodge is called “Lost and Found”. 😉
Since it’s not easy to find a new adapter, the best solution for Nancy is to go on a mission to get the lost one. There are few rules in Panamá when it comes to buses. Just wait along the road, the bus will show up sooner or later. Sometimes people stand along the road with only 20 meters in between them, no problem, the bus will stop twice. If there is no more space on the bus, you just wait for the next one. People are so cool here.
Now it’s time to relax before heading towards Costa Rica.
