Ok I am finally writing a blog! Yes I know the last 4 have been angelic bens! But I'm baaaack! And touch screen typing on my iPhone while on a 7 hour bus to Panama City! So it really is guaranteed quality. I'm mainly doing it cos after 3.5hours of homeland episodes and a dead laptop I am extremely bored and hot and annoying Ben. So I think in a way I have put myself in time out for the sake of our relationship! Hence a blog of some sort is coming your way!Ok so I am told I am in charge of describing our day at red frog beach in Bocas del toro! It was suuuuch a long time ago! I really do need to be more diligent with these blogs. Anyway enough rambling! We decided this morning instead of getting a boat at 9am as suggested, we would wait till 12pm and granted ourselves a bit of a sleep in. It was so good for a change. We

woke up at 9.10am to absolutely pouring down rain! Like bucketing down! And we thought thank goodness we aren't on that lil boat right now! Since buying a hammock we have a heavy bag full of things that need to be posted home as its weighing us down now! So we decided we would visit the bagel place next door for breakie which Jacob had 110% talked up so we were super excited, then find a post office in this lil town. We walked next door and to our disappointment it was shut till June 1st! Noooo! We tried to find somewhere else for breakie but came up short so got a dodgy looking fresh fruit juice from a cart on the side of the road. It was below average and well above average on the price front which is never a good outcome! Next up we went in search of the post office! We used our Spanish translate app to figure out what it was called in Spanish and found a lil booth known as a post office! The non English speaking lady didn't understand our amazing Spanish or even better quality charades and passed us onto the next lady sitting on her butt doing nothing, who informed us in English not only do they not have packaging, they also have no stamps!!! What the heck sort of post office are they?! Anyway, we walked back to the hostel after a solidly successful morning armed with bags still and at 11.30 resorted to ordering pancakes for breakie at our hostel! They came out seconds before needing to race off to catch the 12pm boat and they were massive!!! I has a few bites and wrapped them up to come to the beach with me for lunch and Ben inhaled his no doubt causing some sort of permanent indigestion-ish damage!!We met up with John (a guy on our tour) and jumped in the boat to red frog beach! We were really excited cos it had finally stopped raining and jacob had told us this was his fav beach in the whole of Central America!! Wahoo bring it on! We were also a lil sad cos I think this is our last beach day of our trip! 😞 the boat was a lil speed boat

with about 5 ppl on it and only took about 15 mins to get there. We got off the boat and saw the 3 of our group who had gone at 9am and were sick of the beach and rain! Again we were stoked for our sleep in decision! They were standing on the dock pointing at something and naturally we assumed SLOTH!! As we have all become avid sloth spotters, we were correct! We could see this one clearly and my boyfriend David Attenborough captured it spectacularly! Good start! We got in the park for $3 each and got shown the walk to red frog beach and assured that there was a few red frogs around but they are very tiny! I was excited as I love frogs and really wanna see some! I thought we would see more on this trip!! We went straight to the beach and in the water which was a bit cooler than manuel Antonio but good waves and so nice and refreshing' we swam and played in the waves a while then came back, sunscreened up and lay

in the sun to get into the Clifton chronicles again! Ben was in the last 20% of the 3rd book so that required complete silence from me till he finished it, which I'm not gonna lie, was tough! Thankfully John was up for a chat!Once Ben had finished the 3rd book on a cliff hanging moment, after giving him a few minutes to get over the fact that the 4th book hasn't been written yet and he's gonna have to wait to see what happens, we went for a lil walk to try and find some lil frogs. We walked for about half an hour and didn't see anything and we were both getting burnt so we headed back and lathered up again while 'David' went off nature watching on his own and I did a bit more swimming and reading with John. He had been gone about 40mins when he comes running back like an excited lil kid and showed us some amazing pics of a sloth and red frog! He really is good at this stuff! So we ran after him to try and locate them again so we could see them but we couldn't find either again unfortunately! But the pics are so good! We got faces of mummy and baby! They are so cute cos they have a permanent smile on their face! John and I left Ben to it for a other half an hour cos I was getting bitten like crazy by sand flies and mossies and we went for another swim to get rid of them! It was a really nice beach actually and so dead quiet with maybe a max of about 6-8 other people on the beach! Even though knowledgable Jacob told us that if we didn't get the 9am boat it would be absolutely packed with people! He obviously hasn't been to a NZ or Aus beach in summer! Or anytime of the year for that matter! At 5.30pm we decided to get the boat back as we were sunned out and were meeting for dinner at 7pm. We had such a nice chilled out day which was really needed cos it's just been go go go for ages now! Which we have no complaints about and has been amazing but some days it's nice to just stop!We met the rest of the group for dinner at caz bar across from our hostel and it was a fun dinner with a hilariously chilled out, Caribbean guy, who must have been on some kind of drug, serving us! Our food was yummy as well! John, Ben and I had found an ice cream place which was amazing, on the way back from the beach so we passed on the information to the others and next thing we know, we are all there and Ben and I are getting our second ice cream for the day!! Eek! Yum though! I also managed at this point to get our leaving time tomo am changed from 8am to 9am! Yus top marks rach!!We have had a really nice time on Bocas minus the million mossies and again really wish we had another day here ah well! Boquete here we come! 😊
