We went to visit San Cristobal where my friend Julie worked and lived. A boat driver, Sabedro (sorry if it´s spelled wrong) nickname America Central, took us to visit and stay at his house. He has a room set aside for tourists that has 2 beds and a door that locks. I forgot to mention to Elaine that there are few latrines in San Cristobal. She was a bit shocked but more on that later.

We arrived at 5pm after a day in Bocas and at Red fRog Beach. When we arrived we sat and visited with the family and learned that many people had stayed at his house. His daughter brought out the family parrot, Pedro, and we chatted some more. I translated for Elaine. He had all kinds of stories to tell.

About 9 we went to visit Julie´s friend Patrina and go to the latrine. Julie, Patrina says the women´s group had the fish project up and running and the cats kept eating all the fish!

The latrine at the school was supposedly closed so we went to the one by the community house. Well how would I know you had to wade across some rocks that you couldn´t see to step on and then pee over the water? Elaine fell in and was a bit mad. Sorry E! It wasn´t my town. The kids keep telling her a croc was going to get her and we were all joking and laughing. That´s when she slipped, broke her flip flops and got wet. Turns out the school latrine was open and dry!

We tried to call Julie but it didn´t work. So we went to bath and thenm to bed.

too be continued....
