León and Granada

Our last days in León we went to the beach, a beautiful black sand beach with huge waves. We also went to the top of the cathedral, the roof was hot (we had to take out shoes off!) and blindingly white!

We travelled from León to Granada via Managua with a 'colectivo, known in English as chicken buses. These are the ones you will have seen photos of where there are so many people on you can't breathe and you have people and animals hanging out of windows and clinging on to the back of the bus for dear life. They tried to charge us for our bags but neither Fabian or myself are people who put up with crap like that so we refused to pay. Just because we look European doesn't mean they can rip us off!

Granada was beautiful, another old colonial town with stunning architecture.

On our first night we went out for some beers with some of the Argentinians we had met at our hostel in Panama - not the first time either of us have bumped into fellow travellers in another country! Everyone kind of does all the same things so this happens!

To be fair in Granada we spent a lot of time chilling, looking around, lazing in the double hammocks. We also went to volcano Mesaya - see next blog post!

On our last night in Granada we went for a meal together... at an Irish pub. Sometimes you just need a burger!!!
