Hi
so i guess ill write about this past weekend. which was one of my favorite experiences here in Haiti.
A couple of us whent with "the brothers orphanage" on a rice feed about an hour out of port-au-prince. Peeople were told to sit in a line as we did prayer and leanrt a bible verse and sang a song after that We handed each person a bag of rice. it was an experience i'll never forget. each person ranged from enfants to grandmothers.
After that we traveled back into port-au-prince and delivered more food supplies to other orphanages. ... i never really thought that an orpghanage wouldnt be able to support its own needs. the first one we visited was jsut a small dark building full of children, and the second was an abdoned bulding this was again was jus as desperate for food and supplies the chicldren dont even have beds to sleep on. However these kids are probably the sweetest and happiest kids ill ever know. As soon as we arrived the kids came running with hugs and kisses , we then all packed into one of the rooms wiht a few old chairs and the children song sogns to us in creole and a couple in english too! after that the kids knelt down and prayed to god and gave thanx it was probaly one of the most amazing things ive ever heard ...they have so little and yet so greatful for what they do.
This week has been flying by..not to sure if thats a good thing or not..lol im excited to come home but im going to miss this place and the kids soooo much!
ohya so living in haiti can be a bit frustrating sometimes..lol we have gone without water to shower, flush the toilette, and do laundry for 3 days streight!! and then the bucket for the well fell into the well !!! and then we came home the other night to find that our gate keeper had a brilliant idea to burn all the garbage...right outside our house!! our house was completly filled with smoke!!! we had to evacuate the kids down stairs! ya brilliant idea i think NOT!! ahaha but it all got cleared out after an hour and we found some frebreeze for are smokey bed sheets!! and then we sat in the dark with no food or water for 3 hours!! good times...lol the generator broke and no one was there to fix it for a while and we hadnt gone grocery shopping for a few days and there was no filtered water to drink! gotta love Haiti
ok well i better get going
see you all soon!
lots of love
