The dock at Santa Cruz
where I did lots of sunbathing!
After my week of spanish school I decided to travel to another lakeside town to chill out for a few days. There wasn´t much in Santa Cruz, but there was a really good social hostel called ´La Iguana Perdida´ where I met lots of nice people and had lots of fun!
It was similar to other hostels that I´ve been in where everyone eats together in the evening, so you get to know the other guests and staff really well.
They have a big fancy dress room there, and every Saturday night they have a party where the men dress up as women, and the women just dress up! I found a fetching (!) turquoise number which I´m sure was in style in 1982!!!
One morning one of the staff found a small scorpion on his pillow (yikes, has made me really paranoid now) and decided to test out the theory that scorpions sting themself to death if they are surrounded by a ´ring of fire´. So we had Johnny Cash on the stereo and a ring of fire on the ground, but unfortunately I think it was a bit small as the poor scorpion appeared to burn
to death! Whoops! Nothing to do with me, I was just the photographer!!!
It seems like the rainy season has finally come to an end, so I actually managed to spend a bit of time sunbathing and swimming near the docks of the lake- yey!
I made friends with a girl called Trish from the Isle of Man and we´re going to travel together for a while.
