This is probably my favorite
Okay so first off this is a jew writting about Holy Week (the week preceeding Easter) so forgive me if I get most of the terminology wrong.

Antigua is famous for their Holy Week festivities, supposedly the best in all of Latin America. They are known for the elaborate carpets (if you will), which really arent carpets but floor paintings made of colored saw dust, fruits, and bread. These are done in a different church everyday leading up to Palm Sunday (tomorrow). Each night they hold a vigil(?) where people come and look at the carpets which depict a different scene of the crusifiction of christ.

Tomorrow is supposed to start the processions where they create this colorful carpets in the street and then trample over them with a parade of floats showing different scenes from the crusifiction.

More pictures to follow, but heres a taste

Dude!
David, This looks awesome! I think it is great. And I agree w/ you, now is the time. Good luck w/ the Spanish, it's great. I'm jealous... I always wanted to know a second language. We are at your parents for Passover, and we miss you not being here. Anyway, everybody is good. Hannah is not with us, she is in Florida this week w/ a school trip. But Lynsey is here. We drove up through the rain, and neither of us are working tomorrow, so maybe we can stay a little longer. I'm going to subscribe to your blog and keep aprised of your adventure! Have fun!! So cool!
