Very welcoming!
BARBADOS THURSDAY

Bridgetown is below the hurricane belt so its buildings are fairly well intact, its population around 286,000. Another early docking and headed out to Kensington Oval where Bridgetown hosted the 2007 World Cup, a cricket crazy town, a very impressive stadium for a run down, poor sort of town. Then our main focus was to get out to the Mount Gay Rum Distillery, quite a nice walk out along the beach for about half an hour, took a tour of the distillery and then free samples, they were very generous and for the $10 tour cost, I think we drank more rum than that. They are very proud of their association with sponsoring a lot of sailing regattas, giving the winning team one of their famous red hats. They have one regatta they sponsor in Barbados where the skipper of the winning yacht gets a Red Hat and his weight in rum!!! Bought a nice bottle to bring home. $100 US but at the duty free it was $153US. 29 degrees but a lovely breeze. Departed 5.30p.m. for Grenada, a gentle 12knots as its only 100 mile away.

GRENADA FRIDAY

Oohh! what a beautiful

Ready for our tour!
spot this is - quite a hilly little place but so pretty! Very much the french influence here. Lots of little bays and beaches - the water is just so crystal clear - is only 21 miles x 12 miles. The spice capital of the Caribbean they tell us! Have walked a long way around Granada, up to Fort George, then around to the Yacht Club to catch up on some emails etc. Having a very nice cold Rogue Pirate Amber Ale here at the Grenada Yacht Club! Only one other ship in port - lots of Dutch people! Locals are very friendly and can't do enough to help you, a real mix grill of people - French, Spanish, English, African and American.

6th February 2015

Have just got out of bed and been welcomed by 3 blogs ! OMG i feel exhausted from so much sightseeing and rum ! How very beautiful it all looks...... Did golden harvest last night, still nice, but I think it's changed, simon wants to look for somewhere new. Was a nice evening but still 30 plus degrees when we walked home. Simon now employed at Greg hocking , he will start when we get back, I think he is quite impressed with the professionalism, but then anything better than Sweeney. Don't think coop knows yet, imagine he will not be too impressed.? One more sleep for us, and two more shifts for me... Will fly out tomorrow afternoon, flights look fantastic ! No problem getting on, ( cross your fingers ) Must away.. Bags to pack, dogs to walk, legs to shave !!! Miss you both Xxxxxxx
