Though Grace and I had already planned a trip to visit South Florida, Grace found a great deal to spend a few days in the island of Curacao that left from Miami. Both of us had never done an island vacation before, so we were both excited to give it a try and see how we liked it. Instead of the usual hustle of going from museum to museum or watching a baseball game or finding a new place to eat, we were going to try and do nothing at all. Just hang out on the beach. We stayed four nights at the Lodge Kura Hulanda & Beach Club, which is located on the far western end of the island.

A great local place that was just down the street from the lodge. We thought, in the dim light, that there were birds flying around the restaurant, only to realize that they were bats!
