rest of the hike through the Sendero

After we had watched the anteater move on through the underbrush, we continued down the path. We began to hear the sound of trogons and realized there was more than one trogon calling and as we began to look around, we saw seven or eight trogons in a tree. We surmised this must be some sort of courting display going on. Later on we talked to a gentleman from the area and he agreed this was what was happening.

Continued on further and found a bench overlooking the Rio Panica. Made our way over to it and were treated to a woodcreeper, kingfisher and most amazing to us a pelican fishing in the river and moving back into the manglar. An anhinga flew into a tree above and sate and preened and looked around. It was a very enjoyable time and then we decided it was time to head on back to Cristina's.

We were able to find our way back without any problems and did get to enjoy some ani's in a tree and an iguana hunting along the roadway.
