Nate's broken toe ruins our flow...Costa Rica & Panama in 16 short days

Published: April 2nd 2012EDIT THIS ENTRY

Our time spent in Nicaragua went by in a hurry and before we knew it we were making our way into the safest country in all of Central America, Costa Rica. We can honestly say there was a small part of us that felt so relieved, like a weight had been lifted off our shoulders just knowing we wouldn’t have to watch our backs so closely. Costa Rica definitely sees its fair share of tourism, which is... Read Full Entry

Sorry about the broken toe...
So your RTW is turning into two RTWs if you are going back to Asia. Interesting itinerary! Can you give us a rough idea of where you are headed and for how long in each place?

We started in Asia so why not end in Asia!
Nate's toe is sloooowly healing. We are trying to keep him off it as much as possible so we can still walk our way to Machu Picchu. We are still planning our 4-5 months in South America, not sure yet which countries will make the cut. Being American the visa fees kill us! Plus, we're having a hard time rationalize 2 weeks in Brazil vs 2 months in India at the moment. Some places are better off seen with the proper budget so they can be done right. We plan on making our way to the middle east for a tour of Egypt and Jordan before heading back to Bangkok to sort visas for Myanmar and India. Our goal is to make it to Nepal, India, Sri Lanka and Myanmar...and there might be a stop back in the Philippines just one last time before we are back to real life for a while :) As of now, it's all still up in the air but that is the game plan. It's always changing and evolving, we are just taking it one day at a time right now. Take care, Nate and Jessie

I went back to the beginning of your blogs...
I think I picked you up in Thailand but forgot to go backwards. I saw that you were in the Cameron Highlands. That's where I graduated from high school in1968. Glad to see you enjoyed it. The rest of your trip sounds great. I'm not a big fan of India, but most people love it as it is so beyond description. After India you will have to relax at the beaches of Thailand again. Anyway, I'm currently enioying your travels in Central and South America. The visa for Brazil is very expensive!
