It was our 1 year anniversary so we decided to spend a night in a honeymoon suite. It was still not that expensive and it was just amazing. It was situated at the top of a hill overlooking a rainforest full of waterfalls with a hummingbird garden and a giant butterfly enclosure.

And here is a picture of the first animal I came across...although not native to the area it appeared quite tame and comfortable in its surroundings. Here it is- ready to mate............... Well isn't that inviting ;)

If you look closely you will see there is an animal on the path -Havn't we seen that species somewhere before?

One of the waterfalls in the gardens below the Peace Lodge. This one was spraying us with water and it was a little cool in this area compared to the rest of costa rica (since we were up high).

Apparently this bridge broke 2 years ago when a truckload of chickens travelled across it.....hmmm I wonder if chickens can swim........

This garden was full of giant bright blue butterflies flapping around our heads but they just came out as blurs in the photos. Oh well..it still looks nice.

Doesn't he look excited!!! (this was after I made him pose for ten minutes waiting for a bird to sit on his hand. Of course when one finally did- I took the photo too late and it had already flewn off (they're fast buggers those hummingbirds).

They are smaller than they look in the photos (think of the smallest bird you have ever seen....well they are smaller than that!)

There is actually one sitting on the feeder in Dan's hand but it's camouflaged by the background...really...look hard at it.
