4. FESTIVAL DE LAS ARTES Monday, March 19 WEDNESDAY… On Wednesday, as on every other weekday, we had school from 8 ‘till 12 am and we had lunch with a group of COSI-students in a place nearby (3 minute walk). In the afternoon, I Skyped with Jotte for almost an hour! This was actually the first time we spoke on the ‘phone’ since I arrived, so I was obviously very glad to be doing so. Hey mensen, alles ok hier. Zit me alleen af te vragen wat ik allemaal nog in San José moet doen. Maandag vertrek ik al weer richting Nederland maar dat geeft me dus nog ehhh (wat voor dag is het vandaag?) 3 dagen in San José. Ik heb mijn fotorondje eergisteren gemaakt. Ben de stad in gegaan en heb daar eigenlijk de hele dag rond gehangen. Museum (contemporary art) bezocht, wat best gaaf was eigenlijk, en koffie gedronken en mensen gekeken. Best chill eigenlijk, zo´n dagje. Gisteren een dagtrip naar Monteverde gemaakt met Krisstia, een vriendin van Jane (meisje van de receptie) die toevallig gids is. Monteverde ligt eigenlijk weer meer in de richting van La Fortuna waar ik dus al was geweest. Waar in Fortuna de Arenal vulkaan de trekpleister is is dat in Monteverde het ... read more

Vanochtend vroeg, of moet ik zeggen gisteren, zat ik om kwart over 4 ´s nachts al op schiphol. Met dank aan Hetty natuurlijk, die haar nachtrust voor mij had opgeofferd zodat ik tijdig het vliegtuig kon pakken. Na een bakkie troost om de slaap te verdringen het vliegtuig in gestapt en met een vertraging van ongeveer een half uurtje (fijn zo´n polderbaan, fijn van die knakkers die hun bagage in het vliegtuig zetten maar zelf niet op komen dagen) richting Parijs gevlogen voor mijn eerste transfer. Ik had daar normaliter 2 uur overstaptijd, nu was het dus inmiddels als geslonken naar anderhalf uur. 30 Julio 2006 ¡¡Hola, hoooola!! En fin, para qué excusarme, si cada vez que lo hago tardo más en escribir… Estos últimos meses he estado requeteatareada, aunque muy feliz y con bastantes visitas. Patrick abrió la veda cuando decidió venirse desde tierras del norte a explorar estas junglillas de por aquí. Hicimos alguna que otra excursión juntos a la playa (Malpaís), él surfeó, yo hice como que surfeaba, y lo pasamos en grande con una panda de malabaristas de lo más divertidos que conocimos. También fuimos a un volcán. El temido volcán Poas, situado en el Parque Nacional del mismo nombre, el cual había estado cerrado hacía 15 días porque Poasito decidió escupir algo, y que resultó ser menos de lo que decían. i dont know what to say... im sitting in the hostel in San Jose trying to recollect and reminise about this trip and my mind is so overwhelmed with memories, not to mention emotions! its been beautiful and its been eye opening, and if there is one thing i could advise to anyone to do with a year, its to travel! i have seen more than i thought i would ever see in two and a half months. from the kind, giving hearts of the rural towns to the gorgeous landscape of the coasts... i absolutely have loved every single moment of my time spent here! saying my goodbyes to each community was so heartbreaking and difficult, and now comes the time to say goodbye to my tica leaders and group members..... this makes me naucious! ... read more
