Manuel Antonio Beach
A large rock off the Manuel Antonio Beach. We awoke at 7 on Sunday morning... we had breakfast at La Colina and converted twenty US dollars to
colons. After renting two beach mats from the hotel office we were ready to hit the beach!
This is the one thing that up in rainy
Portland we saw pictures of and were ready to experience first-hand!
The water was so clear that I could see fish swimming next to my legs... the water was like a very warm bath and the salt was intense. This is where, for the first time in a long time, I really **GOT** how hypnotic the ocean was... and why so many
surfers flock to Costa Rica... the waves are predictable and got "perfect" around 10:30 the day we were there.
Between going into the water and reading in the shade I polished off
A New Earth for the second time, enjoyed the shade and salty air and Megan finished
Traveling with Pomegranates.
We then had lunch at Los Gemelas and ran into the two guys who were in the raft we did the white water rafting with. After exchanging some stories about the last couple days they went to the park and we went back
Manuel Antonio Beach
Manuel Antonio Beach to the public beach.
By this time it was later in the day and there were considerably more people on the beach than there were in the morning. Even though there were more people we knew that this was probably going to be the last time we would experience this sort of natural ocean for awhile so we took advantage of more swimming.
After this we walked through the shopping that was offered near the beach... it's a really long row of colorful and chaotic shops that face each other. It's the sort of "they all have the same sort of thing but all slightly different" shops!
We took the bus back to the hotel, had dinner at the restaurant and prepared to leave the next day for
San Jose.
