self portrait
quite apt really given the theme for this blog Last week whilst I was relaxing, believe it or not I started thinking about a few things that I've come to realise since travelling. Here are some of my thoughts, some deeper than others!
Pura Vida!
Costa Rica is expensive
The sound of a knocker aka sprinkler reminds me of my childhood. Those days when we were so hot and the only thing to cool us off was to run around naked or swimsuit clad through the sprinklers on the lawn. Awww the memories...
Stubbing your toe really hurts
It feels great to smile and laugh for no reason in particular
Since I've been travelling I smile and laugh a lot
Travelling is good for ones soul
Humans are people. People are humans. Humans are capable of great things. People are capable of kindness.
It is possible for super white people like me to tan!
It is possible to gradually change colour when wearing sunscreen and living somewhere other than Australia.
Surfers are hot
Cats are dumb
You have to eat ice cream really quickly in order to prevent meltage
Karma exists
Being kidnapped can be fun
Aussies are big drinkers and good fun
We can all learn something from
the travelling gypsy
Breaking ones camera sucks. Camera repairs aren't cheap. New camera's are expensive.
I do the whole 'living at the beach' thing well
I have an uncanny ability to buy things that aren't necessarily useful for travelling
My clohes have holes in them
Spanish is a beautfiul language
Quad bikes are the new BMW
Beer is good
I love beer
Smoking is bad
Yoga is bliss
Surfing is awesome
Being a good surfer is hard
Life is wonderful
The roads in Costa Rica are dusty
dust has the ability to make one cough, sneeze and choke
The bus routes in Costa Rica are not direct, however very cheap
Since getting my nose ring I no longer have an obsession with my nose. In turn, I no longer have an obsession with tissues
Since travelling my OCD has improved, in particular the frequency in which I sanitise my hands
Meeting someone for the first time is super interesting....in particular the judgements you make unconciously and conciously
Hostels can be fun places
Hostels can be super dirty
The Caribbean sea in Costa Rica isn't as 'blue' as I had always imagined
Riding a bike is super fun and relaxing unless
of course you ride on a rock hard seat for an hour
Talking to my girls and my family on skype keeps me sane
Mosaics are pretty
Australian guys are really easy to get along with but make me miss home
Beer is good, have I already mentioned this?!
I am my own best friend
I enjoy the company of new aqaintences
I enjoy being out of my comfort zone, it proves to you how strong you really are
Feeling scared isn't necessarily a bad thing
Feeling alone isn't necessarily a bad thing
Water is good for you
At times it seems pointless to do your washing, after all in a tropical climate they are washed almost immediately by sweat. mmmmmm......
Stray dogs in Costa Rica are probably some of the happiest and healthiest dogs I've ever seen
I wish I could paint
I want to be a gypsy
At times being so relaxed is disturbing. Sometimes I feel the need to do something 'productive'. This is when I realised that if and when I'm doing something productive I can't think of doing anything other than relaxing
Travelling around by bus is perfect situation for reading many books
Sometimes I
wish I could play pool, really really well!
Pool and beer go well together
Hammocks are the perfect way to waste a day
Hammocks make me feel nauseas
I love food far too much
Today it's super hot
My wrists ache during the day and throughout the night and this bothers me
Today I really have the urge to wear a vintage dress and look pretty
I am very excited to get myself to South America
If I ate fruit I would be able to get myself through this trip on a much stricter budget
My OCD came back two days ago in a BIG way. It was INTENSE. I felt very EMOTIONAL. It wasn't good
I want to be a doctor
Everytime I finish talking to Hamish and Angus on skype I feel like buying a plane ticket home
I wonder when I'll be home?
I wonder if I'll make it home?

I agree with a many of your comments! And stray dogs are well common in South America, the roads are dusty and bumpy. I was talking about your ocd just yesterday
