How goes it people?
So today was interesting. Not exciting, but interesting. I woke up this morning (around 4am) to the sound of Myles getting sick in the bathroom. When we had gone to bed he had been complaining of felling sick. And i knew that i had fallen asleep well before he did. Ive been taking benadryl because i have an ant bite on my foot that has caused my whole ankle to swell. But of course benadryl makes me really sleepy so i have had no problem going to bed the past couple of nights. Anyways, Myles started getting sick at like 9pm, and by 4am he was throwing up. After about 20 minutes of hearing him be sick, he turned on the shower, and i didn't hear anything for a long time. I went to go check on him, of course i had this picture in my head of Myles laying on the ground dieing and me just sleeping peacefully in bed. When i went to check on him he was ok, just taking a shower to wash off all the yuckieness.
For the rest of the night Myles was up about every 20 minutes being
sick. By this morning i was getting really worried. Myles started joking about having swine flu, but i really thought it was just food poisoning. We had planned on going snorkeling this morning to Cahuita, but with how Myles was feeling that was for sure not going to happen. Another exciting adventure had to be postponed, or canceled. Grrr. We were supposed to meet our guide at the bus stop at 8am. So, at about 6:15 i got up and decided to head to Rockin Js to talk to our booking agent John. I wanted to catch him early so he could call the snorkeling guide and let them know we wouldn't be there to meet them. I got to Rockin Js at about 6:30 or so. Well, it turns out the guy that i needed to meet with wasn't supposed to work till 7am. I thought maybe i could leave him a note, so i grabbed a random brochure from his desk and started to write on the back explaining our situation. By the time i was done with that it was about 6:50 so i thought maybe i would just wait around from him instead. Finally at 7:35
he comes in and i catch him at the door. He is walking in right when i decided to give up and go back to the cabina. He tells me "i didn't have any way to get a hold of you. The tour couldn't happen today anyway because the bus drivers are on strike." That's good i guess. At least no one was counting on us showing up. Lol. After we got that squared away i headed home to see how poor little Myles was doing.
When i got back he was just waking up. He let me in and we both took some Advil, and fell asleep again. My whole body was sore from the crazy bike ride home in the dark last night, i couldn't see all the pot holes so i got really bumped around. We finally fell asleep around 9am. We both woke up again at like 12:30. We had to get the bikes back to Banana Azul where we had rented them from. They were actually supposed to be back at around 11am, but i thought sleeping was way more important. I decided to walk both of the bikes down the way instead of
having Myles get out of bed and get all hot again. He had a fever, but we didn't know how high it was because we don't have a thermometer. Trying to walk 2 bikes down a girt road as cars are passing you is not something i would advise people to do. Its no fun. Believe me. Anyways, i safely arrived at Banana Azul and paid for the rentals for the past day. They have a bar/restaurant there so i decided to pick up some food for me and maybe a little soup for Myles. While i was waiting for my food i met a really nice older man from Michigan. He was in town for a little adventure and to see if Costa Rica might be a place he would like to retire. He was enjoying it so far, but was a little disapointed about the lack of Americans. I told him he should head into town. Most of the restaurants are actually owned by Americans. Finally my food was done and i packed it all up and headed home.
From Banana Azul i got a cheeseburger and fries and i got Myles some white pea soup. My
Cheeseburger was ok. I think the ketchup was home made because it did not taste like your typical ketchup. But, besides the ketchup it was pretty good. Myles still hasn't been able to stomach anything. He says he is pretty much back to normal, except he still feels like he has a fever. After i ate, Myles went back to bed and i cleaned the cabina. I swept all the rooms, shook out all the rugs, did all the dishes, and started to prepare dinner for myself. I ended up cooking fried rice. I'm just waiting for it to cool down as i write this. Myles is going to try to eat some of his soup. We will see how it goes down. I didn't really take any pictures today, sorry, so i thought i would up load some pics from our other adventures that hadn't made it into any of the other blogs. Enjoy and have a good night.
