Wild Flowers
These wild bushes are in full bloom everywhere we go in the trails. We have had adventures even though we have been laying low! We moved again, within the same complex, but to another suite as the critter drama continued. Now we are upstairs in a studio suite, but I like it more, it has huge screened windows and you get a nice breeze through it. (and so far scorpian free!)
So the day we moved in, I looked out the window just as a nice little burglar was scaling the 6 foot cement fence covered with razor wire. He was just about to climb on the roof when my eagle eyes spotted him. I whipped open the window and hollered at him, told him I was calling the policia, to which he just laughed, hopped down and sauntered away. Cheeky monn-kee! Now when we go out, we lock everything up, pull the drapes, leave lights on just in case!
The next morning, I awoke to a rumble, that was small, but felt like a big truck rumbling past the house would feel. I suspected it wasn't a big truck as we are on a hill and a dirt road.....but that was Ian's explanation LOL. It felt different to me as I
Tamarindo Nov 24 002
Close up of one of the flowers could feel it kind of move through the house from one side to the other. I googled it and found out there were 3 of the suckers within a few minutes of each other, but the one I felt was a 4.1'er, with the epicenter right here at Tamarindo. (insert big eyes here!) Everything has felt still since then.....
Yesterday we got up at the crack of dawn, ate our breaky, packed our packs and headed off on an adventure. We hired one of the estuary boats to carry us across the river to a mostly deserted beach. We walked the beach for about 3 kms and found a nice shady area to rest. We frolicked in the waves, read our books, swam and had a jolly good time. When we were getting hungry and hot, we decided we better head back, but once out in that sun quickly found out that we were not only out of drinking water but energy. My resourceful AND handsome husband led me up some dirt roads (where we saw more monn-kees) and found a little hotel/bar where we called the water taxi to come and save us. It resulted in the walk
Sunset
Most nights we walk down to the beach and enjoy the sunsets. This one is with the sky all lit up pink. back home only taking half the time and it provided us with much needed shade. Needless to say we are very red, hot and sore today from the sun hence the "burning man" in the title.
Today has remained an "IN" day.
I have uploaded some random pictures we have taken over the past few days, please feel free to leave comments or thoughts on any of the pictures or blogs.
Over and out!
