Last night was nice. Walt and I walked to find a bank machine, got money, then found a nice little Chinese restaurant for dinner. We were a 5 minute walk from downtown. Good location. Afterwards, we sat for a bit in Parque Morazan - a nice little park close to our hostel. We then went back to the hostel where we enjoyed a beer and I played one of the guitars they have there for guests to borrow. We then checked our e-mails and were in bed by midnight. Traveling takes a lot out of you I guess.

This morning we woke up and after enjoying a free pancake breakfast at Tranquilo Backpackers, we were off in a taxi to catch a bus to La Fortuna. The taxi driver took us to a different station than we were expecting, but the bus was nice (an actual coach bus instead of a school/chicken bus). Only $5 each for the 4.5 hour journey from San Jose to La Fortuna.

Once we arrived here, it was a 5 minute walk up the street to the Arenal Backpackers Resort where we are staying. It's fun because we are sleeping in a tent with

matresses for only $20/night. Pics to come once we are home!

According to my travel guide, this place is arguably the nicest hostel is the country. It has a gorgeous pool, restaurant on site, dorm rooms, and private rooms (although the private rooms are a little pricey - like $50 I think).

We just got back from enjoying some "pinchos" (shish-kabobs) for lunch at a little place in town. In about an hour, we'll be heading out on a hiking tour to the volcano (just around the base - not to the top) then will enjoy a buffet dinner at Baldi Hot Springs, where we will also enjoy the multiple hot spring pools and even waterslides; all for $44/p.

Tomorrow morning we're planning a hike to a beautiful waterfall. Should be nice. I'll be sure to write again soon. All this free internet at the hostels has been AWESOME!
