boat ride in the caymans
We woke up early because the McCormicks had to leave by 9:30 to catch their flight home so we pretty much got up, dressed, and packed up the car, said our good-bye’s and thanked them for a wonderful time. We got to the Marriott around 8:30, they stowed our luggage and we went over to order our crepes. The kids ordered a strawberry nutella and Jeff and I got an egg one. Izzy also ordered a fresh squeezed apple juice. They were very tasty but not the best crepes we’ve ever had and Izzy didn't like the apple juice.
After breakfast we changed into our bathing suits and headed down to the beach. We were able to get two chairs by the pool in the shade and a couple chairs on the pool deck at the top of the stairs going down to the beach. We spent the day in the ocean and playing in the sand. I was able to get in touch with an old friend of mine who is living in the Caymans and they took us out on their boat that afternoon. They just had a baby last year and it was really fun to see

them. Chris took us out to this really neat dive site where they had sunk a US military boat. We put on snorkel gear and checked it out. They boys went out exploring but I stayed close to the boat with Izzy – she was afraid of sharks. It was a really neat site the boat was so close that the boys could swim down to touch it. We didn’t stay out too long because their son needed to get back and Izzy had a hair braiding appointment for later that afternoon.
Once we got back to the hotel our room was ready so Jeff checked us in while I stayed with Izzy to get her hair braided. Jake decided to stay in the room to relax and Izzy joined him after. Jeff and I spent the rest of the afternoon relaxing with a couple cocktails at the beach. Overall, it was an amazing day.
Around 5:00, we went back to the room to shower and get ready for dinner; we decided to eat at the pool side restaurant called Vistas. They had some live music that night. I wasn’t that impressed with dinner but the ambience was
fantastic so it made up for it. After dinner the hotel had a telescope out for some star gazing, the kids saw Orion and a few more constellations. We decided to take one last swim before calling it a night. The pool was a little cold and the hot tub was crowded so we found ourselves sitting in a gazebo type structure by the pool playing a guess who I am thinking about game and having a ton of laughs. It ended with a meltdown by Izzy because she didn’t know what movie Jeff was referring too with his guess and that pretty much told us our night was over. It was What about Bob that she freaked out over by the way
