Nassau New Providance Island aux Exuma Island Bahamas. Bonjour la gang. Nous souhaitons que vous allez bien et que la période des fêtes ne vous ont pas trop épuisées. NoËl au Bahamas c'est bien beau mais pour une soirée ou deux avec la famille et les amis n'auraient pas été de refus malgré le froid et la neige. Tournons la page, 2010 est arrivée et s'annonce bonne et pleine d'aventure. Nous quittons Nassau pour les Exuma chapelet de petits îles et îlots, partie centrale des Bahamas dans l'axe Nord Sud. La plupart de ces îles ne sont pas habitées donc une région relativement sauvage. Les réservoirs d'h2o,carburant diésel essence, propane et remise à provision bien remplie ont lève l'ancre pour Allens Cay (y parait qu'il y ades iguanes sur ces îles).. Ocean Reef to Georgetown - 2010 We quickly settled into the routine at Ocean Reef resort and before we knew it the holiday season was upon us. There was a planned “Pot Luck” dinner organized by the remaining 50 or so cruisers for Christmas Day. It was lots of fun with plenty of Turkey, Ham and special dishes prepared by the different boats. Dinner was followed by a gift exchange which was done as a “Chinese Auction”. This provided plenty of laughs. One of the gifts we brought was a bright red crab hat that was fought over by several guests. Julie and Dan flew in on the 27th and we had Christmas morning all over again. I just finished racing the Family Island Regatta in Georgetown, Exumas, Bahamas. All the boats were built in the Bahamas. The local cruising community helped a local Bahamian named Pat get his boat "Two Friends" ready for the regatta. "Two Friends" received a new mast, a new Awlgrip paint job and some repairs. One C-Class boat I raced on sank, to the bottom, just after we crossed the finish line - It was great fun. The Bahamas Police marching band closed the regatta.... read more
