Personal Space in India I know EXACTLY what you mean about no concept of personal space whilst crammed in a bus! I was lucky enough to actually get the last seat, and then spent the next couple hours with someone's pelvis rammed into my shoulder, a handbag on my head, and someone else's thigh wedged between my legs! And it's the same over here with the kids! They get passed around from stranger to stranger who are quite happy to have them fall asleep in their laps. And Chas and I have also had a sprint between bus and train - there's nothing like jumping on your train, wrestling to find your seat, dump your pack, find yourself dripping in sweat and knowing that you've got 12 hours before you get off the train!
Awesome Zac and Sof, it sounds like you had an awesome time. Missing you heaps zac. Loved the thought of you riding a horse...just can't quite picture it.
Glad you had a great time!! Keep it real.

PhD thesis: why Chinese like taking photoes with foreigners It's simple, usually 2 major reasons:
1. curiosity - Chinese are a single-culture, self-closed group of people for the most of last 100 years, any race other than Mongolian Asian will be regarded as rare animals and keep their eyes wild open
2. vanity - Chinese have their own logic to "earn some faces", showing off pictures with white people is one of the holy grails to make their friends and families "Wow..."
Other possible motives include:
want to practice English,
boresome,
want to make a foreigner friend,
star scout for local product ads,
hobbie,
want a blonde wife/husband,
mental illness,
trouble makers,
thiefs and slickers......
and most unlikely,
Wolf Creek series killers
I'm not jealous I forgot to tell you that if you open one of the doors on the ceiling at Hell Hunt you go into a magical land where you can eat beer flavoured pancakes in a sauna, sounds like you guys came pretty close though. Hope the train trip goes well. I'm not jealous, I got up at 5am and went to work for 12hrs, beat that for excitement.

Durians, King of the Fruits... ..closely followed by mangostiens, queen of the fruits! When we hired a car last year in Singapore to drive up to KL, one of the clauses in the lease was "You may not have or pick up any Durians in the car". I had no idea what this meant, and thought it might be a little more dirty than it really was (think the regulars of Orchard towers...). Needless to say when we were booting down the freeway behind a Durian truck all that changed.
ha thats nothing ha thats nothing compared to what fun adventures ive had!! ive been at school!!
wow!!

enjoying your blogs Love hearing all your adventures, zac would be in absolute heaven with all that food, and beer!!! All is well here, i'm looking after your olds at the moment. The cats say"mieow" to you too!!
Yay for family! I was so looking forward to hearing about your time with your family! I'm so happy for you guys that you had such a good time!! Goodness me, they certainly know how to feed their guests!
You guys should be professional .... You guys should be professional restaurant reviewers and write for some hardcore restaurant or foodie magazine. Every progressive blog entry that you written has an even better description of the amazing food you have tried. May your travels bring you more gastronomical delights. Meanwhile, I have to make do with cheese and crackers at work! Good to see your more serious Poland entry and good to hear you've caught up with family, Sof. Looking forward to the next entry!

so hungry Hi Sof and Zac - I love all your entries and it brightens up a day at work. Good to hear you guys are having a ball. I am getting so hungry reading about your food adventures, I am going to buy some nutella and make some nutella crepes at home. Take care and have a great time!
xx B
You guys struck a good note. I am glad Sof that you are reconnecting with your roots and that your trip continues to be a gastronomic pleasure. But I understand your need to state what you have just experienced; it is important to discuss and that we need to constantly reinforce 'Never Again!' Also, I wanted to add a comment as no one commented on our only serious blog. Keep it up. I at least want to know more.
from Sof's Mum It is wonderful to read a blog from Poland - wishing I was with you obviously! I saw it in rain and snow!
Richard P knows all about Blue Man Group.
Lego hair Yes, there is lego hair! Unfortunately it all starts to break off when you start headbanging. But it attaches and unattaches so easily from the navel, it makes it even easier to scare the neighbours.
Wow, a full size model of Zac made out of lego! So much more portable and generally less offensive. Kat wants to know do they have lego hair? Sounds like you guys are making a good fist of what must be a very tough time for you both. Party on
Tristan, Sal, Kat and Steeeeve.
Nice to see you having fun Hi from USA,
I have a lot of fun either. I hope you enjoy your trip. In Warsaw you have to ask for Zapiekanka, you can find this food anywhere.
I'm so sad not meeting you, but next time we must check our vacations before travelling.
have fun and Do wiedzenia

Which was the real Zac? Wow! Lego land!!! Your pictures looked like so much fun! Chas says not to worry about competing for the blog entries, as he is stuck behind a computer 9 hours a day (except when he has dysentery!). We hope you are not too much longer in the forest, wouldn't want you to get taken out by the boars! Remember not to run into a kitchen/garden shed/location of sharp, disemboweling tools either!
A Boaring Holiday Literary Eli loves the title of this entry, and also thinks you are doing a fine international interpretation of "A Very Hungry Caterpillar" since you are leaving a wake of empty larders behind you. He vomited spectacularly this morning in our hallway due to overdosing on rich food (in his case, undiluted fruit juice) so beware the berlinas. Great to hear your sojourns are such fun, and thanks for the travel tales.
Jealous over your 'gastronomic' tour! Hey guys,
Thanks for the great blog entries- I've had many laughs and am glad you're having a fabulous time! You know me and my love of food...it sounds like you're doing my kind of trip and spending most of your time enjoying and discovering all sorts of cuisines!! Well as I was told by friends when I stacked on the kilos in France...at least there's more of you to love!! We love you lots, so keep eating! And keep having loads of fun!
Love Rach
MMmmmm Foood!! Hey hey my lovelies! So great to hear all your cool adventres and it is really interesting for me as this is a very similar route to my trip last year, just backwards! Can you do me a favour and write me an email explaining how to post photos on quickly! Luke and i struggle for about 20mins per photo....grrr...technology!! Lots and lots of loving xxxx
