Back to Thailand to end the trip where we started 6 weeks before! This time we went to Chiang Mai, Ko Phangnan, and Bangkok. Chiang Mai is in Northern Thailand and is the second biggest city in the country after Bangkok. It's home to a lot of temples and an area they call the "Old City" which is surrounded by a small river that almost feels like a moat. While there we went to the Night Markets and a Muy Thai fight. We also went to Tiger Kingdom where we pet and played with tigers ranging from 2 months to 2 years old. Some of them were born in captivity while others were rescued when they were very young. They are well-trained and seem used to humans. The babies climbed on us and let us lay ... read more

I wrote this a week ago! We are back in Thailand now, but figured I should post my original writing from Singapore. More about this round of Thailand in the next post. Writing from Singapore...again! This has become our "in between" city of the trip. We arrived back here after being in Borneo for 10 days. Our time in Borneo was spent exploring the unique nature that it has to offer. Borneo itself is one of the largest islands in the world and is occupied by 3 countries - Malaysia, Indonesia, and Brunei. We spent all of our time in the Malaysia area on Borneo. We started on Mt. Kinabalu about 2.5 hours outside of the city of Kota Kinabalu. We stayed at the base of the mountain in a small lodge for 2 nights. While ... read more

Hello from Bali! We've enjoyed every second of our last 2 weeks on the large island which is home to approximately 4 million Balinese people who "never move from Bali". First we spent a fulfilling week in the city of Ubud. Ubud is a relatively big city in the center of Bali. In my mind what makes Ubud unique is that there is so much Balinese culture everywhere you look, including temples on every corner, even though the town is buzzing with tourists and shopping. We explored the Holy Water Temple, The Rocky Temple, and The Elephant Cave temple - just to name a few. Temples are very important to the Balinese people, so much so that every home has its own temple in it, no matter the size or condition of the home. Most Balinese ... read more

Hello from Singapore! We feel we've closed a chapter in our trip upon arriving here a few hours ago from Phuket, Thailand. So much to share about our time in Thailand over the past 10 days. The start was in Natong Beach on the west side of Phuket, Thailand. We stayed one night at a place right on the beach. It was quiet, picturesque, and a perfect spot to get our minds in the right place and reflect on what was to come! From there we took a boat for 45 mins from the east side of Phuket to Koh Yao Noi, Thailand (Koh = Island). Yao Noi is a small relatively untouched island in the Phang- Nga Bay between Phuket and Krabi with a population of about 4,500. They've had electricity for only 15 yrs ... read more
