Buena suerte, Susannah bella!
It sounds like you've already run into all kinds of tumbles to your plans. Don't worry: there's no way you can spend as much as I did! I imagine you're already at your vipassana course and enjoying it so that by the time you're back out you will have grappled with deep things and come into lightness. I hope it has been wonderful for you.
If it doesn't sound too "teach-y" let me tell you to have infinite patience and humor with your language learning. You can put in work and more and more work for months only to find that one day, much later than you thought it would, everything clicks. For the record, I absolutely cannot understand Ecuadorian Spanish, so if you master that you'll be my hero :)
Love and Blessings,
Rhiannon
Best of Luck Sus,
So great to hear about the beginning of your journey. I love how clear you are on your intentions and feelings so far.
Best of luck!

you go girl! I'm sure it is disheartening to have two things go wrong on arrival. but they will work themselves out into something wonderful you can't even imagine. i love your spirit sus and i'm so happy to be able to follow your journal via blog. love and hugs - amy
So Excited Sus,
Wow, you are definitely starting your travels out right. I'm so excited for you and hope you'll update often here, though not if it takes away from the experience (for me, the blogging was a really big part of the experience, but had I felt it was taking away I wouldn't have done it so much).
You are leaving *one* *day* before I get back! I am kind of sad about that, meaning I won't get to see you...but also kind of exciting. I'll be organizing myself out of Mumbai and towards Holland and America as you are heading out on your adventure...
Thank you so much for the comments and attention you've given me throughout my time abroad. The quality of your attention has been really special.
Best of luck!

Hey You all! Welcome to my blog! I am living and travelling in South America, primarily in Perú.
Having won an Adventure Learning Grant from Fairhaven College (thanks so much!), I am now enjoying international travel for the first time. My project focuses on 1. learning languages, 2. connecting with local fiber artists and artisans (weavers, embroiderers, etc.), and 3. learning from them about how art plays into their economic lives.
And, being an ¨interdisciplinary type¨, there is also... full info
