Close of Chapter 1 The 15-month journey was a wonderful one for those of us who were reading your many triumphs, trials and tribulations. While there was no pomp and circumstance to the close of this journey, I only hope that it is the mere close to Chapter 1 of what will be a wonderful journey through life.
I hope that in travelling the world, the two of you have searched each other and found even more reasons to bond closer. My best wishes to both of you as you return to some semblance of normality amidst the world of an economic depression. But alas, for the utopia that we know can exist, we need only return the stories of "two4deroad".
Back in time! Hey u two, well you had a trip back in time. That's good. The Nature Reserve is your thing. I love the mode of transportation and your lunch room. All good things must come to an end. I will miss my trips and scenery as I look forward to your retrospect.
fantastic pics! Glad you'd enjoyed Your stay in Romblon.Just wonderin if you'll allow me to include your shots in the local newsletter,Uswag? Hope to hear from you soon.
Great Blog :) Hi Shanna & Vibert. I discovered this blog a little late. I guess your journey is already finished; the last entry seems to be a while ago? Anyhow it's a great blog, well written plus your choice of countries is surprising too. It must have been a lot of work to maintain this blog. You guys have been in several countries where I've been travelling and backpacking too: Aruba, New York, Suriname, The Netherlands, Greece, South India, Thailand. Your blog and pics bring back happy memories. Within 3 months we will visit Suriname for the 5th time and perhaps we will visit French Guyana or Guyana as well, don’t know yet. I’ve put a link to your blog on the ‘Suriname Dashboard’ on Google Pages if you don’t mind. Greetings from Bakrakondre, Damsko.
Beautiful sunset, beautiful Thailand! Wow, love the sunset! So gorgeous! Seems that you guys like Thailand very much, do you? Thanks, Shanna and Vibert, for showing me so many awsome places!
"I just want it cleaned" Hi Shanna/Vibert,
Laughed soooo loud when I read Shanna's instruction to the doctor: "I just want it cleaned"! Are you crazy or what????
Love!
Annelies
Splendid, WAT? As usual the pictures are splendid and the history of the Places and Wats are fascinating, thanks for the trip. I felt the pain of the nail piercing Shanna,s heel because that also happened to me. Thank God the the doctor did the surgery, Wat?
Feel better soon. Hey Shanna, Never a dull moment. Even though I don't comment very often I'm still enjoying the adventures of Shanna and Vibert. Your photos keep getting better. Go well!
Careless Humans "But the bus wouldn't stop because the overhanging wall of stone was too dangerous, they said. Determined not to miss one of the reserve's best views, we scrambled up the mountainside, grabbing vines for support, digging our toes into the decaying leaves and mud and dodging loose boulders........"
"......We thought that Jiuzhaigou seemed like how the world used to be before the smoke stacks and the chainsaws, the plastics bags and the careless humans."
Darn those careless humans.
Exquisite The buddas were exquisite and delicately made. The craftmen's art is superb. Looks like you were heading to some water to cool off, heh heh. Shan looks like if she as really studying something, a Wat?
thanks I worked in Paramaribo from summer 1982 to spring 1985 at the US embassy. your prose and esp. photos brought back a lot of pleasany memories. I really enjoyed the quick tour.. thanks again. Sorry for the poor typing. Peace Out. ksm
Dominus vobiscum As always, you guys have revealed the true beauty of the developing world. I applaud you for taking the road less travelled and for giving the rest of us a chance to explore the sights and sounds of the parts of the world that the West does not want us to see. As you go on your journey and get ready to take on Bangkok, I remind you "Dominus vobiscum" as you "Carpe diem". And never ever forget, "Ubi panis ibi patria"
What an Adventure! What an Adventure you're having! Where are you are now? Today? Keep those blogs coming in. Oh, I'm doing a blog on my forthcoming trip if you want to follow it. Kind regards, Dawn.
