arrr charlie! You had me close to tears with this final blog :( I think you should write a book on your experiences when you get back! I miss China so much even after only having spent a month there so god knows how you guys are gonna feel when you leave! Cant wait to have you back, SEE YOU NEXT WEEK!!!!! xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
wowee! Sounds great guys really excited about having you both back. I think you'll find it very strange - i do and i was only away for 2 months. Cant believe its been over a year! One quick comment- people in India also sit on trains not reading/ playing games but going "haaaaack" ALL day and night and spitting out the window! Maybe England is the odd one out on this tradition?! xxxxxxxxxxxx
Peel it's so good to hear from you again on the blog! I love reading it but am Vvery jealous - final year of uni is nowhere near as exciting as the tales you have to tell! Glad to hear about your brilliant job offer, but I have to admit am sad I'll have to wait till christmas before seeing you again! A reunion at the Manchester Christmas markets is definitely in order I feel.
Miss you lots! Enjoy the last few months of your amazing adventure xxx
mmm...goldfishy goodness hey guys! you really dont have much luck with hunting down buildings that are still intact do you?? atleast you managed to actually get fed at that hostel even though it was only half built! And was this puppy you looked after the replacement puppy of your friend who's puppy got run over?? So cute! Bet you didnt want to give him back :) Missing the craziness of china after hearing all this stuff! Lots of love xxx

Wayne is here Hi,Charlie.
I am so tired...nothing els, just for my poor English,it costed me more than 20 minutes to find the unknown words in internet dictionary to read over this blog...555(I am not the number, just the crying sound)
Thanks for lead me travel Henan and wait to next station.
Question:which color do you like:pink, green, yellow, blue or purple?Mail your answer to me,thanks.
Hi pals. Glad to hear you're still having a brilliant time and discovering more and more things about the crazy land of China. The lantern festival sounds beautiful, glad to hear you avoided scorching the top of your heads. How funny about the babies' funny little trousers! That's so weird. Can you imagine if that happened in the UK? People would be arrested! Just shows how completely different China is, despite having Wal-Mart's and God Rest You Merry Gentleman arcade games.
According to the ticker thingy on your front page it's now over 100 days since you left the UK, I can't believe it, how time flies!
Hope you're both well, lots of love Hannah xxx
Happy March Just seen Bonnie in herb garden coffee shop today so we had a natter. your blog is great (as ever). I didn't know about the rain but have read about it in several papers since. had a great time at Tim's party-sure you'll have heard all about it. spring weather in the air today- snowdrops, daffs, crocus all looking good. keep well both of you and continue enjoying Zibo. lots of lovexx
very fun hi,Charlie:
it is really a lot of fun to read your blogs, i cannot help laughing for several times.and i feel happy that you're getting used to Chinese way of living, wish you good luck and i hope we can meet soon.
Another great blog. I'm very sad to hear that since i wasn't born in the year the of the ox i will never have the honour of being able to buy or wear red underwear! I wonder if the girl in railway children was born in the year of the ox.
Magic and Johnson - what genius Tristan!
Pleased that everything sounds to be going well and that you really are managing to have a true chinese experience.
Love clairex
Wooow! What a great photo's! It's nice to read that you guys are getting used to the Chinese life ;) We're in Vietnam at the moment and we really have to get used to it (especially the rip-offs!) But we're doing fine and in a week or two we're finally in the warmer part of Asia. We'll soon try to add an English part on our blog or send an English mail, so you can read a bit about our 'adventures' instead of only watching the photo's ;) Have fun and enjoy!
Ps: now that Frauke and Brad are leaving, is there a possibility that you can move to their apartment or do you like to stay in your orange couched crib? :)
Hi Pat, glad you had a good time in Mongolia too. We didn't do very much planning before hand- just read the LP and worked out the sorts of places we wanted to see. We did a 9day trip that was organised by our hostel- the Golden Gobi (in UB). I think it would be difficult to drive a jeep by yourself in Winter! Our driver was fanstastic. he could navigate even in a blizzard in the middle of nowhere!
Great photos and trip I was in Mongolia in the summer of 07 and am waiting to go back. I would like to go in November/December as you did just to experience another season, but would also like some summer travel to the mountains and desert. We had a fabulous time, too, and I have many friends there now to see again. There's a young woman in Duluth--college student--I brought her things from her mom when I came back and she takes things for me to families. I want to build a ger in my yard in Duluth. It's a great place and we had such a fabulous time--thanks for sharing, sounds like you did a good deal of planning. Did you work through a trekking company or on your own?
Fantastic read Just been forwarded your blog - what a great read! Im very jealous, enjoy the adventure!!! PS Tris while your there... find out what the Chinese translation is for ROOKIE !!. Mark W

We're travelling from the UK to China to take up a teaching post in Shandong Province from Jan-Sept 09. We leave the UK in November 08 and fly to Tallinn, Estonia. We then cross the boarder in to Russia and travel to St. Petersburg then Moscow where we'll set off on the Trans-Siberian Railway. At Lake Baikal we will head south through Mongolia; arriving in Beijing by Christmas. In January we will make our way to Zibo where we will be teaching English until September.
We'll try and keep our blog up to date. Hope you enjoy reading it!
Update: We have a new job and we're staying in China ... full info
