Wine Hello mate. In Boston so just spent a bit of time catching up on your blogs... sounds like you are having a great time! I can imagine you not enjoying getting plastered on wine very much! I like this bit... 'Also, knowing about all the history of a wine, and the different methods used to produce each wine, before drinking is also part of what makes it a great day out.' History: Grape. Preparation: Squash with a) feet, b) press... now drink!!
Take care, Ciao, Bruno
Magical Mystry Tour - now you see me, now you don`t I`ll bet you thought when you saw these wine cellars "now that`s what I call a view" but it was all a hazy blur in the end. Did they do `3 for a tenner`? I`m mystified about the girl you met "Old school friend"?! As far as I am aware you went to an all boys school!unless she was from junior school, and that was a loooong time ago, perhaps you will enlighten me further, or maybe I`ll start thinking Trans Gender. Love Mumx
Good o`le wine Well done Trevor! That is surviving a day of wine tasting! Fancy meeting a girl who went to the same school as you. You never know who you will meet or where!
Take care. Enjoy your last week. Best wishes Brenda
Vino Collapso Excellent. Now I know why we sent you to Latin America - just so you could act as our buyer and bring all of that vino home. I'll take the stock from either photo Trev, you know I'm not that fussy!!!!!
You missed your S American port of arrival from your World Tour list - Brathil and that short flight to Sao Paulo all of 2 months ago!
Pity that girl went to the same school as you, but 20 years later eh Trev!
Not long now and you'll be back with Les Miserables in sunny Blighty. Enjoy the final week Trev - see you soon!
"Wow"! Absolutely magnificent photographs Trev, and even a rainbow just for good measure. I can`t imagine how you must have felt seeing and hearing this spectacular sight. I can understand why you should want to travel to see this from all the best vantage points. Got to be worth another tube of Anusol. As for your old friends the Mozzies, I expect they smelt the blood of all those steaks you have been eating, there`s always a downside to the pleasures in life. I should imagine the rest of your trip will seem pretty dull after this, unless there is yet another surprise around the corner. All I can say is "Wow"! Take care love Mumx
Wet Behind the Ears! Superb photos Trev, but as you say the noise has to be heard to appreciate the true power. Bit like sailing across the end of a glacier in reverse - there is nothing to hear but the towering sheets of ice are out of this world.
What is it with you and buses? Are you getting Eaton up with the fascination of collecting numbers and sore bums? Is this a career-changing point in life? Or will you survive the trip vowing never to sit on a bus again!!!!!!!!
Harry Potter quote (Book 4 - re the Night Bus): "Fasten your seat belts and clench your buttocks - we're in for a bumpy ride!"
Watch out for the Gauchos in Cordoba!
Argentinian Roses You are certainly a seasoned traveller now!
`Roses grow on you` Trevor. Have a wine on us when you next have a drink. Good on yer! Best wishes Brenda and Eddie
Wine, Roses & Cow Hide! I like the Jacket Trev, but I thought you could have managed a younger pick-up for the night. was she the ropey bit of Cow Hide? Still anything looks good after a few glasses of the local wine I guess, even roses grow on you! Have fun love Mumx
Mad Mother and Mad Cow With 10% bad beef and your mother bursting into songs it's hard to work out which is the madder cow??!! I did warn you to watch your asp in BA - the prptest (new word Trev?? - based on wine infusion??) you saw is typical behaviour there and with a fascist police force ready to clamp down on dissenters it's no wonder they arm themselves!! But it is nonetheless a fascinating city.
Becoming an international traveller of renown now - meeting up with people you have seen elsewhere. When are you penning the tour book - "Around my Girth in 80 Ways"?
Desperate Dan I´ve been making enough visits to Parillas to put together a meaningful statisitcal sample of beef quality, and I have to say, 90% has been outstanding ( 90% is also the amount of your plate that each sample takes up!!)
I think I´m going to put back on all the weight I´ve lost so far whilst in Argie - you cant help but have Steak and a bottle of wine - it´s the staple diet!!
Donkey Walloper You do realise that you are in deep schmuck with Jane, having inflicted your mighty mass on that poor pony's frame. I didn't know they had Shetland ponies in the Andes! Did the white water rafting provide you with that "enema moment"?
Bet you were really pleased when that altitude sicky pulled out of the treck - but what was wrong with the other three? Holdy hands types I guess!!
Enjoy Argentina and try and take in an asado (Argie Barbie) if you can - cracking beef and lots of it! Watch your asp if you go to BA though.
A Wolly Jumper to brighten your day! I think "a chum hiccup" was made here Phil! you old goat, nothing wrong with brightening up the day with a`wooly jumper`is there Trev? I`m only `kidding`.
What fabulous photographs Trev, it must have been well worth the long trip to see this sight, it must have taken your breath away when you first set eyes upon these views. Keep them coming, and look after yourself Love Mumx
Jumpers requiring Sunglasses Phil, I think that a bright multi-coloured jumper would just get lost in my mum's wardrobe!!!
Congratulations on the job by the way!!
Macho Poncho Good phots up there in the mountains Trev. Perhaps you bought your Mum an Alpaca jumper in all the bright colours we associate with the Incas and her wardrobe? Or are you saving on luggage volume and weight?
Condor Hi Trev, Glad you are continuing to enjoy your adventures in South America. The pictures are all fantastic. I liked your views and the Condors.
The same old weather her. Rain, rain, rain. Not a good summer. You are not missing anything!!!!!!
Continue to enjoy your South American experience. Best wishes fro Eddie and Brenda Maggs
Pipes and Rumblings Hey Trev, never knew a Condor moment was synonymous with Pan Pipes - always thought it was something to do with that briar pipe that was a permanent fixture in my old fellahs chops for so many years! Rumblings - must be that Llama pie you had (You know that Jane will kill you for that, by the way!) that caused the early morning tremors that woke you up. What a cover up for a good bout of flatulence!!
Best go before I get the bird - or encounter another of youth smorer anagrams!!
Pisco Backlash I did say they Pisco Sours were good! But overgood gets you locked out eh!! brave man doing those floating islands with floating innards.
Mum's laptop now crashed. Am looking at it 2morrow for her. May be a RTB for new hard drive from what she described.
Cats Eyes! Cool shades Trev, Did you see the two cats eyes in Lake Titicaca? Phil will love this one!(cat i cat i ). I had forgotten what a dead man crawling looked like, the last time I was witness to that was when you celebrated your 18th birthday!! Once again lovely photographs. Carry on exploring Love Mum x
Shiny Shoes Hi Trev, You are certainly getting about. Sounds like you are enjoying yourself. As you say with your hiking boots on you don`t need them shined!!!! Keep up the good work. Take care of yourself. Your Mum and I had a good day in London last Saturday. Best wishes Brenda Maggs
Dead Man Walking God you look rough Trev! Couldn't you find a couple of sherpahs or batti-wallahs to carry you over those peaks? Damn fine sunset!!
Sorry, but I had to fix you Mum's laptop so that she could keep up with your travels. THERE IS NO ESCAPE! That means more of those corny anagrams I fear - but she does mean well, bless her.
Enjoy Perrrrroo. You must try a Pisco Sour when chilling in the bar. Famous local cocktail and not too bad at all. In fact, have one for me! By the way, I was HMS Minerva's Peruvian Pizza Eating champion 1987!! Never knew that did you!!
These Boots Were Made For Walking This seems to be a more interesting location for you Trev. Excellent photoes, who is the man alongside the presidential guards?, He looks well. Looks as though he has been enjoying some of the local sustinance like the same man in the view out over La Paz. Time for the man to go trekking me thinks!! Never mind about shiny shoes, "These boots were made for Walking" Keep having fun. Love Mum x
Fat Boy Fodder See the old waist line is burgeoning again Trev. 3 course meals on your budget - and a bottle of wine? How come you no sign up for the guerrilla army? Heading north fast now, so watch it if you hit Lima and Callao!
Hi, Im Trevor, and Im now coming towards the end of my time travelling.
So far I´ve been to Nepal, Chile, Bolivia,Peru and Argentina, and have had the experience of a lifetime!!
I may be 37 yeasrs old, but I feel like 27 travelling around ( although my body feels like I´m 47 years old at the moment)
The only thing I´m dreading is going back to work - I cant wait for my next chance to travel!!!... full info
