Of course, Tim had to go and buy some new goggles and a new toque because of the yard sale he had on the green run. Don't worry, Tim. Some day you'll be able to ride that toe-edge.
The more things change I was at Fourah Bay College back in 87-88, prior to the conflicts in the last 10-14 years, but I still remember the helicopter ride from the airport and the beauty and poverty of Sierra Leone (not to mention the joys of malaria and the lack of electricity and refrigeration). Glad to see people like your family and associates doing such great work. Thanks! Guy
you were brave...to take the helicopter! when i was in sierra leone last year, you could not get me on an ex-soviet helicopter if you paid me to. it was strictly ferry/hovercraft for me.
i enjoyed seeing your photographs. i was there for ten weeks, and i hated it a lot of the time, but i also loved it. it was such a rich and wonderful experience for so many reasons. seeing your photographs really makes me want to go back!

They're coming back! Man, that guy has those racing stripes shaved into the side of his hair... I LOVE IT! I have been waiting for those to come back in style and according to the standard calculations... Year it is fashionable in Europe + 2 Years = Year it is fashionable in Canada.... It should be here pretty soon! I CAN'T WAIT!!!!
Sidewalk They have really deep gutters for all the rain they get there. I fell into one when I was taking a picture of kids and took a step backwards, to the amusement of everyone watching.
Welcome back It's been great reading your blog. Hopefully you'll have some more stories and pictures to share next time we see you (maybe on Friday the 9th?).
Split Dubrovnik for Anne Dear Anne why not try a ferry ride Split, Hvar- Dubrovnik, it will cost you the same and I am sure you'll enjoy it much more. If you opt for bus however it will take you some 5 hrs depends on a day (weekend or not)or a time(try to avoid midday).Have fun!

swim It was good to have you around Tim, you know what the homeland looks like now! Hope the remainder of your travels go well. Don't throw your passport around too much...
the passport Personally I'm amazed that it took Tim this long to lose something important. Most trips it happens by day 2.
The peacocks in Prague are different than the ones in Japan.
Czech Republic Adventures Hey Tim, seeing all your pictures puts me back, remembering the times I had in Prague. What a great city. Anyways, if you have time at all you should try to check out a little town called Ceske-Krumlav (although I do not know how to spell it) but it is one of the most beautiful towns in Europe and it is not that far from Prague - your Hostel should know about it. - Plus the absenthe is a favourite. Well, I am so jealous of you, I wish I could go back. Happy travels and talk to you soon. Trevor
Rugby with the Brits, eh? Must have been the Lions vs. All-Blacks test match--it's all the rage going on here in NZ at the moment. Keep up the good work, T!
Message for James King Hi Timbo, cool pics, I love that drippy house and I want to live there.
Please tell James what the five fingers said to the face when you see him.
Cheers.
Dude,
awesome to see you are getting around. If you don't want to stop after only two months fly straight to Japan and I just might be able to find you a place to stay.

Königstein (Koenigstein)
The correct name of the fortress is not Krongstein but Königstein (King-Stone). Nice pictures! ALF
