Beautiful Sintra Well, it was worth slogging thro the rain to get there—some gorgeous sights there! And the sun eventually came out... What’s an initiation well? Thanks for sharing! Bon
Hooray! Glad you are feeling well and joyfully continuing your adventure. I am totally enamored by all the intricacies of Portugal! You two describe It beautifully!
I have been reading every word I keep a travel journey every time we venture to someplace new.It comes in handy when friends travel and want recommendations on restaurants/shops. Your blog is truly something to behold. I especially could relate to the food poisoning entry. Jere ordered something in Normandy and when it came,he didn't like the looks of it, little langastinos with beady little eyes. I ate all of it, quite yummy...three hours later I had symptoms of food poisoning. Will share the rest of the story when I see you. Glad the sick ones recovered rather quickly, I was a little worried.
Love you
Ellen
Sorry some of you got sick! Love the fancy coaches and fancy dinner with all the ports of various ages!! We miss Cathy with her good suggestions for books to read! I'm at a loss for May... :)
Fado You probably never want to go to Fado again but any hotel can get you into the better clubs. The hotel in Porto could. I know I know it is an aquired taste that goes better with alcohol ?
Castle The Castle was my first overseas sight-seeing adventure. When I went, some 45+ years ago, all the animals there were albino, including the peacocks. Magical. So glad you enjoyed the day.
Oh how you are making us miss Lisbon! Three days there weren’t nearly enough and we’re determined to go back and spend more time there. We love following along each day to see what new adventures you’ve been on. We can relate to and had a chuckle about the washer and “dryer” situation. Drying clothes took over the entire apartment for our family of six for only one day’s with of clothes, lol! Enjoy the rest of your trip. :)
Loving It! What a fabulous idea to create this blog, complete with insights, humor, photos and captions. I feel privileged to share your journey, as a chair-sitting traveler!
Love you blog A few more notes if you have the inclination: the food halls yum Placido Chiado and Mercado da Ribeira.
fun : A Cevicheria. Of course you have to like ceviche?
