A Very Tame Butterfly

Lovely photo!
What is it in the environment that attracts the Monarchs to this area? Is it a special tree? Are there any other species of butterfly that migrate here? Fascinating phenomenon of nature! Gail and Rich

The Hat
Tak - I see you let Margie where your lucky fishing hat. You should have worn that when we went smelt fishing.

Stuck in a Book

Looks Good
A Twins hat and a cold Modelo .... Does it get any better than that? I think the book is the same one Margie reads during your Curling competition..

Who am I?

Who Am I?
Margie, I think this is an orange breasted bunting. They are found almost exclusively on the Puerto Vallarta coastal area. Happy travels coming home tomorrow! Gail

Girlfriends
You have your highschool girlfriends confused with mine. All of the class beauties were chasing me. Well maybe not but I can dream can't I.

Going Down the Waterfall (not us!)

Exit fee
When we were in Costa Rica in '98 there definitely was an exit fee to be paid to leave the country. We didn't know about this before hand and luckily our party was able to scrape up enough to leave the country. We had to help out a young single American who had no money left. It seems like a crazy rule and no credit cards accepted. Make sure you check out the latest rulings.

Going Down the Waterfall (not us!)

Exit Fee
We emailed American Airlines and they said it was included in the ticket. Some airlines do not include it, so it can be confusing.

Bob's Favorite Spot

Quite a hammock retreat!
The photo of Bob in the hammock is a winning one! It might be hard to leave this place. Did you ever capture a photo of the elusive macaw yet? We have the usual winter rain here at present. It is quite warm for Olympia, 54 degrees, but not quite like the tropical rains of Costa Rica. When are you two vagabonds returning home? Will you go down to South Carolina for Christmas?

Bob's Favorite Spot

HI
We have seen about about a dozen macaws, but were never able to get a good photo. We'll be home Dec 16. Lynn and Aaron will be coming home for Christmas. Thanks for your comments. Always fun to hear from you.

Hike
Even if you didn't make it on the entire hike, I still think you're doing well for old people!

Old People?
Your mother told me to answer this comment. I think she is insulted. You don't want to walk very far after very early morning. It gets hot and humid. Wie are middle aged people! There are many people older than us. Our definition of middle aged increases every year though.

Watching the Rain from Balcony

A howling good time!
How close do the howlers come to your balcony? Fabulous wildlife shots! Are the iguanas shy? We saw quite a few on our trip to Costa Rica, but I didn't stick around to see if they were shy! Gail

Watching the Rain from Balcony

Howlers
The howlers were across a path by the hostel, so we could get about 30 feet from them. The male became very vocal after Bob took photos and left. Iguanas are fairly shy and move pretty fast, so you have to sneak up on them. Good to hear from you!

Books
HI Lynn! We have one tablet with several books on it. I have read some of those, but Daddy likes to read a paper copy. I think there might be a book exchange at the next hotel.
