I began my travels in my twenties; a month backpacking in Thailand, Spain, Johannesburg, France, America, Amsterdam and Australia and became hooked. Thanks to fate, I met the love of my life and am now lucky enough to call Australia my home!
I was very excited at getting an invite to a wedding for one of Adam's best friends in Byron Bay. We made a long weekend of the trip and booked in at a central hotel, with it's own private beach access. After 6 or so hours in the car, the first thing we wanted to do was jump in the ocean! Though I had spent time in Byron before; around a week in a campervan in a very nice campsite, I was extremely happy to do it again staying in a hotel and getting dressed up. The wedding itself was beautiful, I met all of Adam's friends for the first time and really loved the intimate wedding overlooking the beach in what's probably one of the most popular café/restaurants in Byron. To say I was a little apprehensive and scared to head to Rainbow Beach was an understatement! I had managed to score a work for accom position for what was supposed to be a couple of weeks, save some money and head back to the UK after a horrendous, but long overdue break up of almost six years. Premier bus booked and off I went. Arriving in Rainbow a few hours later and I wasn't that impressed. My old and well practised pessimistic side in full swing already! Heading up to the staff room, I made my top bunk home and shyly introduced myself to the other English and German room mates.
