London...
I have always wanted to visit St. Martin-in-the-Fields and also hear the orchestra, so thank you for your wonderful description and photos! Your blog makes me want to visit London (again). Thanks!

The Royal Pavilion, Brighton

Gorgeous photo! Always thought the place looked so odd in England though... rather like coming across a Norman keep in the sahara! Hehe.

Hey! I was at Stonehenge recently! We missed each other by a week! I have an aquaintance who works at Stonehenge who has been asked by American tourists no less than 6 times if it's true that Stonehenge was built by aliens! Still it is always a place worth visiting... mainly with the NT and EH membership cards as then its free. :)

yes you can get photos without people
You just have to either be my age and remember the days where you could park at the side of the road and walk up to the stones and run in and out touching them! The other way to get those photos is to get there before the place opens and be the first in. That's how we got our photos this summer. You can also book with English Heritage for a private visit early or late. It's a well kept secret which they don't advertise. You pay a bit more but get an hour in there in a small group.

Stonehenge
I also didn't enjoy Stonehenge because of the huge crowds when I went, and the fact that we couldn't get very close to it. And I compliment your picture of it, you managed to get a good one without the hordes showing.

Nice photo of Fountains Abbey. I'd love to visit there again, I haven't been since I was a kid. Great blog - nice to see those good ol' Nat Trust places getting the spotlight here.

Lovely to see bath again
Thanks for sharing your photos of Bath, Dawn. I haven't seen it for more than 25 years as I now live in Australia, but it was always one of my favourite places. Like you I adore the vaulted ceiling in the Abbey and, of course, the Roman Baths. (I think there is a big clock somewhere on the abbey, too, isn't there?) I have never seen the Prior Park gardens, though. They look beautiful, especially the bridge. The proper coloured swans are nice too. Over here they are black not white (I call them negative swans). They look more regal in white, I think. You've made me want to see Bath again. I'll have to try and fit a side trip in when I visit my family next. Thanks

Bienvenidos y hasta pronto!
Seems like you really had a wonderful time. I especially liked the pictures from the Evita Museum and the Torres del Paine National Park. The mountain view is spectacular! Did you see any coins with typo's while you were in Chile? :-) Thanks for the heads up. Looking forward to reading about your next adventures!

Hi Lynn
I would highly recommed the Marcopolo Inn in El Calafate...it´s a hostel but it´s much more than that. The room I´m staying in is just like a hotel room with ensuite facilities and the price is good. The transportation for the area is good and adequate. I only travelled to El Chalten from El Calafate on this trip and that took 3 hours...it takes around 16 hours to Perito Moreno, you stay over in Perito Moreno, then the following day, you travel a further 16 hours or so to Bariloche. Chalten Travel supposed to be the best company to do the transportation on the Ruta 40 and the package includes an overnight stay in Perito Moreno. This is the company I plan to do the trip with when I return in December. Please feel free to ask me further questions, happy travels, Dawn

El Chalten to Perito Moreno
Hey again, Dawn. Just checking in to see how your bus ride was from El Chalten to Perito Moreno. I plan to be doing the reverse trip in a few months. Let me know. I'm curious if the transportation is very good, or mediocre and how many hours long the bus trip was. Thanks...............happy travels...................Lynn

El Calafate
Hi Dawn....good reading about your Patagonia trip. I've been to Leeds - when I did the coast-to-coast in 2005. Anyway, from the US I'll be heading to El Calafate this November. Any commentary on your hotel or where to stay there? Was the bus from El Calafate to TDP comfortable? Any information you feel like providing will be a great help. Ta ta............
