I'm sorry to hear that you've been robbed! :o( shit happens sometimes and I understand you being devastated about the pictures more than anything else... think that you have some stored in your blogs here and maybe you can copy some from your fellow travelers as well... it won't be the same, but it's better than nothing! I hope you're feeling better now!
Sorry to hear that you were robbed. You at least have the pictures you posted here. I hope you get reimbursed soon so that you can buy replacements for everything you lost.
Thanks for the feedback guys! Bob, I was losing track of days so using dates helps me also. Borders haven't been too bad but we'll see shortly as we head towards Cabinda, DRC and Angola!
Wow! What an interesting and inspiring trip you're undertaking. Hope I can do something like that in the future. Hope to hear more of the places you'll visit. Keep it up! :)
It's amazing how you just go with the flow and don't let anything ruffle you... Great stories and pictures. And it helps that you have gone to dates rather than days into the trip...and that your entry dates reflect the starting date for that episode rather than when you wrote the blog. It appears the borders are getting easier to cross, too.
Love you in the bedroom photo I wish you had a photo of everyone dancing. Sorry the owner up'd the prices on you. Take care and be safe. Hope your leg is feeling better.
I suspected the break in the blogs was due to lack of internet access... which must really be hard to find along your route. But your fellow bloggers can wait!
That's quite an ambitious journey Hi Sarah,
pretty cool trip you're undertaking, I'm very jealous. But then when I hear that most of your group caught Malaria, I'm having second thoughts. Hope you recover quickly, and good luck for the next weeks!
Cheers,
Jens
Please don't reconsider! The malaria was over and done with in just over a week after diagnosis. I highly recommend this kind of travel! Feel free to email me with any questions you have and I'll eventually respond!
YEP GORGEOUS West African women have a flair with their headpieces...always seems to look just right...Cote d'Ivoire...has the President that was voted out in late 2010, left office yet?...was the main issue when I was in Mali in 2011...and your safari truck rolls on...

Now for logistics...wasn\'t it possible to get all the visas before the trip started?
Hello, there! I'm glad I found your blog in the early stages of your trip; it sounds like an amazing adventure and I'm looking forward to read more about it
I hope that you are taking pictures... and that you will edit these blogs to insert them when you find an interent connection that is fast enough...I know that is tough in the middle of nowhere. It sounds like you are having a great time!
We traveled to Morocco is October and had a wonderful time Thank you for the memory. We loved the souks of Fes. The pottery was fascinating. We brought home a tangine.
Having grown up in Australia, I had no idea that when I left in December, 1998, I wouldn't go back. After working and travelling in the northern hemisphere for over 13 years, I then quit everything to travel through Africa in 2012. Since then I have also travelled the Silk Route and in 2015 moved to Bangkok, Thailand.
The more I travel, the longer the lists of places to go grows, not shrinks.
Thanks to all those who read and wrote. it's the first time I've attempted blogging and feedback was definitely the motivation to keep me going!
