Love your blog My morning breakfast includes reading your blog. It us a great start to the day. You are doing amazing work. You are missing the cold here.
Hi Gwen Hi Gwen - that is so nice of you to share! I am glad it had been interesting. I have really enjoyed the work I am doing here and I am sad to start thinking about when I come home. I will miss these ladies!
Thanks for taking the time to write this blog about Covid. So disturbing but not surprising. Women surely bear the burden of this pandemic and resulting poverty. Makes you wonder how the women will ever get out of this cycle of rape and poverty when there is absolutely no protection.
Can I share your blog with a couple of my friends?! Hi! Me, again! I have a couple friends who I know would be very interested in what you are doing in Uganda! Would you mind if I shared your link with them? Figured I should ask you first - :-).
Sickness Hi, Sarah! I am really enjoying reading about your experiences, your work there and seeing the pictures! I was wondering after reading about the different foods you've been eating if you've had any trouble with sickness?
Sickness I have been very blessed with a strong stomach. Knock on wood I rarely get sick when traveling and I can say so far that is true for this trip too.
Ribs Comparison Your readers are waiting for the Taste Test comparison to Phils back in Saugatuck? And Irene must have an ice machine as well? Seems to be a coveted household item there! And what happened to that chicken in the classroom? Your positive posts sound like you are having a great experience of exploration along with teaching rewarding classes for the girls of RWO!
Ribs Debate Well the ribs Irene made are very different, they are dry rub and spiced with soy sauce and a bunch of local spices. They do not have the BBQ flavor of Phils. So he still has the best BBQ ribs
Budgeting Basics I think you are such a natural teacher Sarah! It must be in your genes! Glad to see u got some ice cubes for your drink! A special treat to end your day!!
Praise and prayers You have come across my world and I want you to know that I am a missionary praying for you your Health and your harvest of what God has put in your heart to share. Gods speed
So Proud of You! Is it appropriate for a friend to make a parental sounding comment like that? But I'm just so very impressed. Many people talk about "someday" doing something like this. YOU are doing it! Please continue to keep blogging. Your impact is not only on those around you in Uganda. It is also on the rest of us that are experiencing your journey vicariously.
The First Day Exploring Thank you for taking us vicariously along with you on Sunday! Of course so many questions. Lol. Since you discovered it's a cash economy where you are. Is there a maximum or minimum withdrawal at the ATM? And do we refer to Namulanda as a village? I'm sure your next post will detail how you will be volunteering. But it seems a main focus is the RWO Shelter for the girls. Is that located in Kitala? Have a good week! Sorry I posted a link with my last comment - that's a blog no-no. Blogging is a learning curve for me too.
Very interesting & thanks for sharing. I’m so thankful you made it safely… and seems like Hope is so kind! Looking forward to seeing more that you post!
