Things I learned whilst staying in Hong Kong that I think will be really helpful to any other visiting foreigners not in the know about Hong Kong : 1. Pork, Pork, and Pork This may either be a nuisance or delight to you based on your religion or preference in meat. The chinese are known for their love of pork but I didn't think it would be THAT much love. Seriously, everywhere they sold or served any meat it was 99,9 % likely to be pork than any other type of meat. The Hong Kong people adore their pork so much that on the cityline cruise in the buffet where they had spaghetti bolognaise I couldn't eat it because the bolognaise was made out of pork instead of beef, unlike the way it normally is made ... read more

Since the last time me and the 'rents went out of the country for vacay was when I was in junior high (now I'm almost done with college), it seemed that another family trip was well over due. And that's how I ended up in Hong Kong. Day 1 : ARRIVAL Since it was already dark when we made it to the hotel we just walked around and tried out the MTR system. You know, dipping our feet into Hong Kong a bit. Day 2 : FUNFUNFUN First we went in the early morning to the Big Buddha via MTR and walking, which is usually the way people get anywhere in Hong Kong.
