So much has been written about Bora Bora, and yet it is hard to find the right words to describe the magic that emanates from this island.
Lush tropical slopes and valleys blossom with hibiscus, while palm-covered motu circle the lagoon like a delicate necklace. Perfect white-sand beaches give way to emerald waters where impossibly colored fish animate the coral gardens.
Bora Bora satisfies every expectation of the idyllic Polynesian island. Lying 143 miles (230 kilometers) northwest of Tahiti in the South Pacific, Bora Bora is only six miles long, but it has two towering volcanic peaks and a dazzling turquoise lagoon ringed by a coral reef. Perched along a gorgeous rim of sand-fringed motus (islets) are sumptuous thatched-roof overwater bungalows -- South Seas hideaways for celebrities and legions of romantics such as ourselves.
Bora Bora - Unquestionably the most mythical of the Pacific islands remains the island of all dreams and our all time favorite.
