Good to read your entry today of tripping around the Dordogne and the Lot. So pleased Will looked after you and turned it on. Food photos look fab. Pity we couldn't visit but I'm sure you ate enough for us too. We stayed in St Cirq Le Popie a few years ago. Friends have 2 houses there. Another magic French village above the river. Death to the aristos!!
Two Antipodeans in the city of romance celebrating a blood bath by watching a huge steel tower catch on fire to the music of the French national anthem. On the face of it, not a very attractive proposition, but I bet it was fantastic. John Lennon singing Imagine would have been amazing and surprising conclusion. Vive la Beatles!

Trouble in paradise
I sobbed my way through your story as I too have experienced some of these tribulations. It just means we need staff. Can you imagine Marie Antionette negotiating with the rental company or dragging her boxes of jewels up the castle steps? Makes you wonder if society has advanced much in the last couple 'a hundred years! Ed
