'If you don't see any marks on the trees for a while, then tell me because that's when we get into bear country.'
'OK, and if you see me wandering into a cottage with three bowls of porridge laid out, then tell me.'
Outdoor cafes with umbrellas and potted flowers! That town is becomming fancy. I was there in 1989 and again in 1999. There were already big changes that happened in that 10 years, but it still wasnt as well to do looking as the average western european city yet, by 1999. Watching a part of the world changing so much, since I started travelling has been fascinating. :)
Svatka Thanks sis :) yes there are two possibilities for my nameday - either March 4th or February 8th, the latter being the day I changed my name by deed poll (and the weird coincidence there is that comes one day after Veronika!)
TBH I prefer Kathau Day, everyone needs some crazy tradition in their life and this is mine.
Vsechno nejlepsi k svatku Hey Bro,
I am sure by now you are aware that Czech people have an extra celebration day - according to their name as given by Czech calendar. I think 4th March must be your NAME day. It's funny as my name day comes up on the 8th of March... So, HAPPY name day ;o)
Sis
Awesome! Hay ZeiB,
I just read through the last three blog entries, sounds like you are having an awesome time out there man. You write really well by the way, you should get started on a book.
Keep us updated please :-)

Yes, that is it That is the proper definition for the word "surreal." Congratulations - the last two experiences I read about were either annoying or pleasant and definitely not surreal. This one is surreal. Good work.
Sounds like a good project. Anything to liven up the idea of train travel in Britain! You can add links to your urls using TravelBlog's formatting codes - you should be able to find them to the right of the screen you write the blogs on.
"Richard's friend went on to explain to me that western Hungary was "the redneck capital of Europe" and therefore this type of entertainment is common" which statement is also a total bullshit...
Thanks. I think, contrary to your first paragraph, this is a superb piece of travel writing. I've really enjoyed your Eastern European blogs; I can tell from them that you have a refreshing and entertaining attitude towards European culture. J.
Red bull is stupidly expensive here (especially considering it's made in Austria, which is a far easier journey to R than UK), so I most likely will a bit. After the hand in rush I think I want it for emergency purposes only :P
All looks pretty swax Nice entry, impressed by the running too. The room looks massive man. As you are under not many time constraints are you going to come off the caffeine or do they do red bull over there? Glad the travelling went well man.
Haha Remind me; if I ever want to become a mule, all I need to learn how to say is "chci t ukat"... although, I think if I said it it would be quite insidious. Damn. xxx
I'm a musician, writer, linguist, esoteric type and european train buff from London, UK with an inexplicable connection to the Czech Republic, currently living in Prague.
I started this blog before my first ever trip to Czech Republic back in August 2008, and decided to move there 10 months later. Since then I've been doing as much travel around the region as possible.
I can offer you: decent advice about trains, tickets, reservations, online discounts and the quickest route from point A to B basically anywhere in central europe or UK, and advice about Prague ... full info
