All OK post eathquake We were on the other side of the South Island when the quake happened so we were fine. We are due to fly out from Christchurch on Friday but the airport is working now so that should be fine. P+J
Aptly Named Place Can't imagine why they named it Cape Foulwind!!
I have very few photos from my trip down the west coast of South Island due to all that weather.
memories come flooding back wow - reading your blog brings back all my memories from my NZ tour all those years ago - don't recall quite so much rain though until I got to South Island!!
Been there, done that! Seeing you sliding down the dunes brought it all back to us. The worse part was walking back up to do it again. Enjoy Coromandel.
What is it? Hi John - its a metalwork pig in an artists studio. It was cute but cost about $600 and was too big to fit in my suitcase.
Hope its not too cold there :-)

Happy New Year! Hi both, no need to ask if you are well, I can see from the blogs that you are on a much needed holiday. Sally sent me the link to your blog and I have to say that I am completely jealous! I have always wanted to go to Borneo to work with the Orangutans; maybe one day! Anyway, have a fabulous time and take care. Sian. x
Glad everything has started so well. We are enjoying lower-key and lower-temperature Skipton - having a lovely break and have seen cousins, good friends and Rowan and Ruth saw the new year in with us.
Hoping 2011 continues for you as well as it has begun - and that it goes well for our common project (let's hope for some nice surprises in the form of fat cheques!)
Bye for now

Happy New Year. Things seem to be going well. We're already jealous with itchy feet! Not too much of the curry. You will be very antisocial on long flight.
Life's a beer! New Year's day - head a little sore, can't understand why given the lack of beer consumed. Probably the bubbly, or I'm a light weight/half pint!
Just booked Sydney accomodation & Barbs has emailed you both (assuming you are checking your work emails?). Central ie Darling Harbour, so bring your walking shoes - no car/cab required. Off to Chelsea tomorrow & another round of goodbye's this coming week. Has warmed up here, but jealous of your trip & warmer climes. Enjoy

See you in Sydney You certainly both need that holiday! We know how to......like I said........only 2 months off! I'm sure it will be a great adventure, stomach pains will go & after about 4 weeks you won't either remember what work is like!
Enjoy everything, soak it all up & see you in Sydney at the end of Feb 2011

Jealous Sitting in an office with no windows knowing it is a lovely day out there and all the sensible people are on holiday. Will be looking up at the sky to watch you fly over us. Temperature in Dubai about 20C and will rise to about 25C later. Choice this afternoon of buying washing machine or playing golf. Suspect I will end up with the washing machine. Another punishment for working at Christmas. But am down to last 2 pairs of Joe Grundies so maybe not a bad choice.
