Thanks..and Good Luck Hi guys - I've been following your route every day and am still very envious. Hope you travel safe and enjoy every mile of the way.
The delightful you lady manager from the Internet Shop!
You had it easy Wow, you guys had it really easy! We had to wait until Wednesday afternoon to get our vehicles off the barge! (We were in a group of 3 cars and 4 motorbikes). I can't believe you got your cars so quickly. It meant a very long time spent in Wadi Halfa, as the salubrious Nile Hotel, which wasn't fun as we were all really dreading the road down to Dongola and just wanted to get on with it. Anyway, glad you had such a quick turn around!
Ethiopian pleasures and pain Hi Guys,
We're the two bikers you met at Rezeiky camp, Luxor. We've made it to Arusha, despite a few breakdowns along the way, and are taking some time out here before leaving again to get to Jhb by Xmas. We also went to Lalibela via that nightmare road, and really enjoyed visiting the churches (although we were even hassled here, and what's more by a priest!) but I can tell you that the road on the Michelen map is even worse! It goes to Dilbe, and we took it because someone recommended it as a shortcut which also allows you to visit of the more remote churches, the Ganette Mariam church. Well, you've never seen anything like it! We were riding up 45 degree gradients of pure boulders, and Cathy crashed her bike, badly, more than once. We did eventually make it out of there, but it was awful. However, it didn't kill the bikes completely - no, that pleasure was to belong to the Moyale to Marsabit stretch of road. If you get there in the wet, wait for it to dry out, is all we can say. For more, read our blog entries about being rescued to get to Nairobi at: www.depart2peninsula.com
Cheers!

Happy birthday Gail for 2 October; I've made a note, so better timing next year, hopefully. We are just about to raise a glass of chilled pink Cotes de Provence in your honour. It all sounds marvellous Great to read of your progress. Surprised you did not recognise Peter Meecham and dawn among the ballooners.
Weather here beautiful. Hope you continue as successfully as you have so far. Valley of the Stalagmites sounds wonderful and will probably help work out and remember which hang down and which stand up: tites or mites, that is!
Best wishes
Peter and Jane
Jane seems to be out with Noreen quite a bit. I just hope they are behaving themselves and not bringing shame on any family names.
so far....so good good to hear you are all playing nicely! It seems everyone in Warwick had noticed Chris and Ian's car during the preparations, and since they left I have been constantly asked as to your welfare and progress. I shall log on and keep them updated.
