Hi Andrew!
I have been telling everyone I meet that they have to go and stay at your place... It was definitely one of my highlights of Panama, so thank you!
Hi Rebecca,
I'm using the Lonely Planet (On a Shoestring versions), which seems to be what everyone uses. Funny how this seems to be the bible of the backpackers. However, everybody also moans about it because their prices are always wrong (I guess once a hostel is in the LP, they can put the prices up!). The LP is good, but as everyone uses it, if you have something different, you probably will have info the others haven't and vice versa, so it could be interesting. But to be honest, the more I travel, the more I go off recommendations, especially for hostels as this often works out cheaper and not so busy.
Enjoy your trip!
Good Review I am one of the owners....I just wanted to say I really enjoyed the blog. This is one of the best parts of my job when I stumble upon something like this and read about a guests enjoyable experience. Sincerely, Andrew
guidebook Hi, Great blog!
I just wondered what guide book you was using? please
Looking to travel around the yucatan peninsula in july and could use the help while there.
Thankyou! Have a great time!
love that lettuce lake :) Glad to see Suchitoto getting some love, I feel like it is a place in El Salvador that gets overlooked quite a bit. While I agree it's not necessarily the most lively place it is nonetheless a town with an incredibly rich history and wonderful opportunities for some quality down time. The zipline across the lake was a personal favorite, reaching down to skim the water while flying across trying to dodge those aquatic plants was quite the experience. Did you get a chance to visit the peace center in town? They have a great museum that really shows the history of the community as well as a first-rate eco-lodge for tourists. They also have the only skateboard park in the area for the kids in town, and the sign up list to use it goes on for miles! There's also a woman who sells the best chocobananos I've ever had just around the corner, let's just say my friends and I definitely caused a serious spike in sales for the week :)
I'm going travelling around Central and South America for 6 months. I am hoping to keep this blog updated regularly for my friends and family to know what I'm up to and also maybe help in some way other people thinking of going on a similar adventure. But mainly, I think I will write it for myself, so that I can go back to read it a few months later and remind myself of the good, bad and indifferent!... full info
